I noticed this morning my backup camera never came on (factory camera with screen in mirror), no screen no lines nothing. The compass display goes away but nothing displays after that. I cycled the truck into and out of reverse a few times with no change, might have to look into the wire harness connections found this in the search bar. Anyone else experience something like this?

Mine would give me a blue screen with the lines on it but now it is just plain blurry all the time. Something happened to the waterproofing on my camera and ever since it has just sucked.

Got a good deal on a hardly-used Baja Designs S2 Sport - it’s a flush mount unit so bent up a bracket and hanger for it and got it welded up to my receiver. Ran power back to it from my house-battery distribution panel and relay bank and dropped a switch from CH4x4 into an available blank to control it. It’s a clean install and is pretty low-key - puts out great light for backing into the darkness.

On the topic of CH4x4’s switches - the plan was originally to use one of their double switches, but have determined there is an electrical design flaw. So reverted to using one of their single push button switches and all is well - probably will pull the double switch apart and see if there is any way rework the circuitry to make it behave as it should.

Pretty disappointed today,I work in HVAC and so my local UA gave us today off instead of Friday for Veterans Day. Was super happy though cause my emblem overlays were coming in after about a 2 week wait. Well these damn things aren’t even what I ordered, they’re for the newer models and aren’t even overlays! Just wanted to share with you guys in case anyone out there is looking to order. Be careful, I went with a cheaper $50 set when I should’ve spent the additional $50 for a different set that actually had a better item description and buyer satisfaction on eBay! The new set comes in just a couple days lol

Installed 1.25” Spidertrax on the front of my ‘08 today. Now I can turn lock-to-lock without running into the sway bar.

Clazzios seat covers installed. $330 for just the front two seats. Installed in about 2 hours (took the seats out of the truck for easier access).

Just an FYI...recently had a spidertrax fail at speed on the interstate. Not fun. Keep that in mind and always be prepared for some evasive maneuvering. I'd had them on for years and always dismissed the naysayers.

Yeah, wife, kid, 3 dogs, raining in St Louis during rush hour traffic on a cross country move. All of my fun tickets were punched. Could have been a national news event, that's for sure. Fuck wheel spacers right in the ass.

Definitely want more detail about the failure of the spacers... Did they crack or did the internal lugs loosen? Did the wheel start whobbling gradually or suddenly?

Anyway my weekend project was getting Quickjack 7000TLX setup, with the extra lifters for trucks. They give me about 26" of clearance below the frame.

    IMG_0607.jpg
    IMG_0609.jpg

My cars need them more than the Tundra, since I can do oil changes without any kind of extra lift on the truck. I have ramps, too, but these will be helpful when swapping to Winter tires, brakes, fluid film, etc. Plus the ramps always slip on my flooring so they only work in the driveway, and it's cold outside now.

But my other cars don't even have separate lift and jack points, just 4 lift points, so I need some kind of lift to work under them safely.

That is awesome! Does the truck feel secure at full height? And is Amazon where you got them from?

Yeah I shoved it as hard as I could and it didn't even move as much as it does when the tires are on the ground. It's rock-solid. I did buy it from Amazon because they had the best price. I'd hold out until this weekend and see if they have a Black Friday deal on their website.

I'll add it's a heavy MFer. This is their biggest model but necessary since my truck is over 6,000 lbs (I added a ton of heavy sound deadening and LT tires). Most Tundra's are probably under 6,000 lbs (5,520 lb curb weight) so you might be able to get a lighter model.

I think so. Hard to tell, but it looked like something got loose and then the studs tore out of the spacer. Started wobbling like a flat tire. I immediately came off the gas and started gently threading the needle through the semis to the shoulder. probably 30-60 seconds or so from initial wobble to the wheel flying past me on I-70. Bottom line...wouldn't have happened without spacers and I'm lucky AF not to be dead or have killed anyone.

Yes all the things. I'm definitely not gonna get into a pissing match with anyone about whether they're safe or not, they're not. People are gonna do whatever they're gonna do regardless of my experience.

I just made my own bed rails with unistrut, and mounted it to that. I'll post some pics tomorrow morning for you. Pretty straight forward though.
