This is 2WD 2002 Sequoia. My goal is to convert that into 4x4. This is the list of parts I'm currently looking into getting from the junkyard:
    • front locking hubs
    • front CV axles
    • front differential
    • front driveshaft
    • transfer case
      • including transfer case shifter
      • including interior trim around the shifter
    • rear driveshaft
    • instrument cluster (2WD instrument cluster doesn't have 4x4 icon)
    • interior bezel around the radio with 4WD button to engage / disengage
I am not sure about the transmission. Does 2WD have different transmission than 4WD?
Do I need any wiring or harnesses? I was told that 2WD version has most or all of the connectors that 4WD needs.

Thank you @Mr.bee for sharing that. Which Toyotas are better or worse donors for A340F? On some forums I read that 1996-2000 3rd gen 4Runners are good.
Anything particular to look for before I spend a day on a junkyard pulling the transmission? Perhaps first drop the pan and inspect it?

I'll go with j-shift manual transfer case, that's brilliant idea.

I'm not sure what year they fixed the weak OD planetary, but i'd look for an '03-'04 tundra.

& if i didnt have any of the front drive bits i'd skip the IFS & go solid axle.

Ok, I'm currently doing the GX460 front brake update.
Would anybody confirm or deny fit? Also, what stainless brake lines would you recommend? The vehicle is 2WD currently but planning on going 4WD soon and adding 2-3" lift.

What brake fluid should I use?

I found a transmission locally with those labels:
    30-40 LE 35000 3G040 99KR 06546

    35010 3D830

I believe it will fit, could you confirm?
