I can’t tell you where to buy, but i can recommend to you to NOT buy anything from Midlands Toyota!!! They’re currently in the process of trying to screw me out of my $1250.62 order that i placed october 8th. After a few phone calls to them, i think it’s coming down to the point that need to make credit card fraud claim on them.

In checkout, where you can add discount codes, i've used 'freeship' to get free shipping.

Sounds backwards to me. The reason for the fob is to lock/unlock the truck. Remote start is unnecessary. Unless you've gotta thaw shit out before you can drive it, otherwise it's for showboats
    for windows?!

When I bought my truck, I got it with 1 key and 1 fob. Definitely not a Toyota fob, but it seems to be a factory installed unit. I've been all up in her guts, and the only sloppy wiring in there, is from me. As far as I can tell, everything about the alarm; matches what's in the FSM. Single button on the fob to arm (beeps once, locks both doors, activates door, ignition, and glassbreaker sensor alarm triggers). Press the same button again to disarm. Not sure how power windows could be operated from a fob without being a complete liability. The feature that I do miss that I had on other vehicles; silently arming/disarming. There is a 2nd small auxiliary button on my fob that doesn't do shit.
Now that I'm thinkin about it, the alarm sucks. I can load a stack of lumber in the bed, or climb up into it, without triggering the alarm.

Typo on my part. I tend to group power windows with locks.

I thought remote start was ridiculous until my 2003 Tundra came with it. In the winter remote start & the defroster clears the windshield while the heat warms the cabin. I park outdoors - I'll take that sort of a head start to a nice day at O'dark-thirty A.M. when I head out. In the summer remote start gets the a/c going so it's not 10,000 degrees in the truck when I climb in.
Totally unnecessary, but definitely living a better life. I'd take remote start before "upgraded" stereo any day.

My offbrand Tundra Ridgeline has power open windows. Press unlock 2x & hold & all 4 drop. To raise them you have to use the key in the doorlock (or the window switches).
Silent arm/disarm is usually a feature you can turn on/off. Every auto alarm I ever owned you could (& I did) silence.
That don't do squat aux button on your fob is probably for the remote start option they didn't opt for when adding the alarm system.

All I'm saying about remote start is that it's an easy way to add fob-lock/unlock to a vehicle. If your vehicle doesn't have something to pair fobs to, remote start is an easy way to get there.

Everything you want to know is in or linked from this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Search that page for RS3000 which is what would've come in your truck, IF it was equipped. 4th bullet point, 2nd-from-last link in that 'Electrical and keys' section you'll hit on. The thread it's linking to will give you a multi-page thread on how to program a remote, and the couple of places the RS3000 brain would be located IF your truck was equipped. And if you find a harness/pigtail tied up, you can hit a JY and yoink one

Welp, flush mount fridge vent is in. Flange on this bastard was too deep. Spent 45mins cutting it down with right snips. Took longer to trim it down than the entire rest of the process. But it’s done, it’s flush, and looks good I think. More important, it works exactly as expected, definitely some heat coming up.

speaking of deer, my good buddy and his wife hit one last saturday...65mph on the highway. It was a miracle that they both only had a few bumps, bruised, and one damaged rib!

The deer that hit me robbed me of some meat as she scampered away, bruised, but not bloody. I chased her damn near half a mile, before going back to the truck empty handed.
