Possibly. I'm keeping eyes on it. Temps are continuing to drop. This day has led me to drink, and when I just went in for another beer - gotta drink it before it gets warm! - it was down to 50°F, so I'm really hoping there's nothing else to repair. Just need to limp thru for a few days until I can get a new fridge in. I'm good with 21 years of service for the shit-tastic appliances available these days.

@shifty` is it a sxs fridge? My garage fridge would freeze up like that. And i had a pizza box or somethimg blocking a hole down by the fridge drawers so fridge air couldnt circulate back to the freezer side. But once a week i'd pull that back panel & defrost it with a space heater. Also didnt help that i was freezing gallon jugs for the fish tank

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
All the way from the battery, some heavier wire, inline 5 or 10 amp fuse... can't remember. Those things don't draw much and I like them being available anytime.
Added plugs for them and the cap brake light so I can disconnect if I ever need to remove the cap/

Side by side and it's remained pretty packed up. Down to 44°F now. I'm hoping I bought us another couple days. Freezer is already freezing, got some cubes in a tray starting to skin over.

It's totally possible I fixed the immediate problem; just glad we've got a deep freezer. Just pissed this has eaten up most of my Saturday.

@shifty` - check the defrost timer, defrost heater for continuity and if those check good check the defrost thermostat and defrost sensor. My 20 yr old Whirlpool stopped cooling couple years ago and I found some good troubleshooting vids on YouTube. It was during Covid where could not find a new side by side. I think I fixed it for about $30 and still working today

    Yup, I feel you...

I spent my Saturday morning doing the same thing to my Samsung. They are notorious for this failure. In case you decide to buy a new one, I suggest you avoid Samsung.

Got my morning run in, coffee brewed and some toast w butter. Sketching out a quick shed to hopefully allow one man shell removal / replacement. 4 posts and removable crossbars I’ll have to place while supporting some of the shell weight on my back. Or perhaps cross boards I hoist up/down with a locking mechanism for storage. Hmm

Slapped together this cart for the camper, should have done this a long time ago.

Took the truck by a trusted locally owned body shop earlier this week, their estimates guy took all of 30 seconds to say "yeahhh this thing is likely totaled" His concern lies with the forward most frame ends. They are crushed/deformed for the first 1/2 to 1 inch. Not really a big concern for me as ill just trim them back and cap them for mounting a fabricated tube and plate bumper. Something like the addicted off-road design with some tweaks.

Truck goes to the bodyshop with the "in house" insurance adjuster on Wednesday. Seems like a weird setup to me as I've always just had an adjuster come to me, but its been 10+ years since I've dealt with insurance in this capacity.

Man, I had to edit my top-3 reply in the HALL OF SHAME / AVOID THESE PARTS thread to add this. Credit provided where due.

LG, Frigidaire or Whirlpool are the only ones we're considering. Wife has Whirlpool for a client so we get discounts on any products they sell (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, and Consul) but I prefer LG and Frigidaire products personally, even though a lot of kitchen appliances are just Electrolux re-brands. We prefer side-by-side, I don't like any of the freezer-on-bottom crap. I think this one could be a good fit, or this one. MIL is an interior designer and has hooks with an appliance company that'll cut us wholesale on things, so I'm giving them a holler tomorrow..

Car turned left across two lanes of traffic and pulled out in front of me. Did the math the other day and I have only put 300 miles on the truck since I picked it up in July

After COVID 99% of the insurance companies swapped to this model. They'll either have you go to a contract shop to get an estimate, send in photos for an estimate or have a shop do a "virtual assist" walkthrough like FaceTime. A lot of the companies are virtual now. Allstate doesn't even send adjusters out to shops even on supplements.

I love me some sweet tea. My first trip out of the south was an experience when I asked for sweet tea and was brought unsweet tea and bags of sugar. That was a disappointment that Ill never forget

What's the difference? I thought that is what sweet tea is, just ice tea with a bunch of sugar in it.

The sugar won't melt in cold tea. You need some simple syrup instead.

I dont put enough sugar in my tea for it to qualify as sweet tea. More like unbitter tea.

none of that name brand stuff either.

We always did sun tea on the backyard wall, and I'm not a fan of super sweet, so just a little sugar or Sweet & Low.

I'm a bit of a brand whore on sweet tea. I prefer to use Lipton if all possible.

I don't like it diabetes sweet but I do love a cup of sweet tea on a hot day.
