No leaks, I have sprayed 1/2 a can of MAF cleaner on every possible vacuum location without any fluctuation in idle.

Sniv said there are anomalies but all looks ok.

The fuel level sensor is from the deletion of the flex switch/bypassing the fuel pump main harness that is only powering the relay to the direct harness that is running the pump.

Don't know what his thoughts are just seems weird that after you screw an install up numerous times you bring up how much it cost the company to fix it.....they have now idea how much it's gonna cost them....YET

I get that. Time to just say goodby. See if they want to buy it deducting some of the repair?

I can upload my copy of Techstream v18 if you have the dongle. If not it's just $45 off Amazon. It does take a little computer savy and Windows 10 to work, but it pulls up more codes than even Autel does.

Thanks, I have TS18, it shows these same codes, was just easier to use the MK808BT. :p

That absolutely sucks! Though out of all the shit you've gone through that is the ONE thing that I don't know if I can get too pissed about. As we've seen on here (relatively recently) it's kind of a shot in the dark predicting if the ECU will get bricked. They might've done everything right and it just didn't want to take it, hell they could've flashed it 5 times tuning it already and then it decided to shit itself. Fastlane47 flashed his truck dozens of times and then it bricked. MDL had his brick on the first attempt and then fine after that. That's not to say they didn't fuck something up (at this point hard to take anything they say at face value) but flashing the ECU does seem to be a bit luck based at times.

I have yet to tune anyone else's truck in person, though it's coming up soon for one or two. And that is a huge worry of mine, ECU decides to shit itself even though I did everything the same way as I've flashed my own truck dozens of times. Luck of the draw is against me and now I've fucked up this guy's truck, need to tow it home, give him a rental or my own truck, fix his, buy an ECU, hopefully it fucking works the second time, all to "make" $200. The mechanic side of things is easy, the ECU bricking I can feel some of their pain what they're probably going through (assuming they didn't overlook something).

I see a lot of on-site tuners hook trucks up to a battery tender etc big issues the voltage being low on the battery. Then low battery life on the computer and weak internet signal. But ya who knows lol I’m sure Viktor or someone has better insight on a protocol

You know I was running a tune where everything should of been dialed in for smooth running. Kept having p0101 pop up at various times, start up, going up hill or pulling into my driveway. Just random shit. It also was pig rich at times on highway. I went back to @snivilous first tune and it is running nice. A little rich but no codes and pulls nicely. My maf is maxed out as it is. Something to think about dialing back with maf?
@snivilous can you see a difference between mod1 and mod5 in my tune that may be a clue?

I abandoned the Xact tune & am using Sniv's. Both said the tune was fine (Sniv said Xacts was not as he likes it) and says I'm damn good now. I don't know, SNiv suggested I post what's going on.

    @snivilous ?

e30s datalog looks totally fine, fuel trims are less than 10% off and been consistent and no voltage issues. It's weird that he has a permanent p0101 even though there's no evidence as to why my tune would cause it which makes me suspicious of that. The narrowbands show a weird sine wave type oscillation at times which I think is what e30 is seeing on his wideband but I can't tell what's causing it and it's been happening since the first datalog. His truck had been fine and then the mileage started shitting itself with his Xact tune which is when I then touched it, so I'm thinking whatever the issue is started then since his datalogs have been consistent among themselves but different from other trucks I've seen. But since there's no stand out issues with the MAF or fueling, hell all the spreadsheet cells look fine, it's only the line graph that suggests something is up, that's why I haven't thought to change the tune since there's nothing to adjust besides changing it for the sake of changing it.

Might have to ask SlowNStock on the HPT forum and see if he has any insight into the datalog...

You could pull the accessory fuse and shut off intercooler pump and battery charger. I installed a switch to shutoff the intercooler and afr and fuel pump gauge. Combined with a charger to give piece of mind. HPT tech was saying that some aftermarket stereos pull some amps and they recommend pulling fuses that could cause issues but nothing related to ecu and ign!

Is that code a vacuum leak or evap type code? Vacuum pcv valve for the evap? By the rail?

@e30cabrio have you looked at the MAF harness for any shorts, loose pins? O2 wiring? I've always hated being a parts changer instead of finding the root cause...install a new MAF? It sucks to throw parts at it though.

Something with purge flow for evap, gas cap, blocked line or wiring not switching. Not supposed to be a big issue. but not 100% in his case.

I had an evap issue. Swapped the purge flow by the rail, gas cap then finally a canister. Purge flow and cap is an easy cheap fixes to try.

That has been there for months, when I lost the fuel line a few months ago near Palm Springs & had it fixed professionally, they went over the system with a fine tooth comb, tested function, said all is as it should be & as it does not hurt anything & emissions tests ignore it (I passed smog with it) they said leave it alone.

I cleaned the old MAF when it was pending, it kept coming back. I got a new OEM, it kept coming back. Not sure when it became perm.

If the price of admission is a loss of a few MPGs I'm good, If I can improve the MPGs that would be nice!

I'm driving to L.A. tomorrow & on the way picking this up in Yucaipa.

I've always understood the O2 sensor signal oscillated. They dither back and forth in a sine wave and that's how the ECU adjusts fuel to 14.7-ish, closed loop. That would show on the WB too. Mine has always done that dithering to either side of 14.7. It's like the constant corrections that we need to make to the steering even though we're traveling straight.

I first noticed it on the freeway, on cruise pretty much flat road, nothing I'm doing changed, it stayed over 14 at that point.

flat cruising is -9 to -10
