Went on a night run with the boys last night. Just digging on the blue bumper, which is usually hard to see the vibrant color.

Had to replace the fire extinguisher that someone took off with during an off-road trip. I had the new one in the truck, finally getting to installing it. The new mount had different hole placement, and the old mount was slightly different to hold the new extinguisher (of course).

Continuing with the lighting carnage, I believe these are ready for a rebuild. I’m thinking the projector bowls are burned, as the cheap projectors can do that. I’ll be swapping them out with BiLED projectors. HIDs will always be superior to LEDs, as the throw isn’t as far, but these are so simple. They don’t require ballasts and the PIA HID bulbs suck to work with. Also going with new shrouds to match the horizontal turn signals.

You know that size extinguisher fits in the rear door cupholders.

I keep one on each side.

    Just a thought…

Well that's damn handy info. I'll have to look at the back doors in the Taco to see if it has a similar bottle holder.

unless the door panels are different from a 17 Tacoma they should fit. My brother in law has them in the rear doors of his Tacoma (2017 DC).

That’s where I have a mini extinguisher bottle, but the one I have is a little small. Good to know the larger ones fit too

So I ordered 3” projectors for the headlights. They’re too big. They’re going to hit the inside of the lens. Mostly because the LED driver is mounted on the butt of the projector, pushing it forward. I thought I could figure a way to sink them deeper in the reflector bowl, but it’s just going to complicate the install and interfere with the boot to cover the wiring. a 2-1/2” BiLed has been ordered, and I’ll keep the Bullet shrouds. Funny these projectors came in army green.

Got the 2.5” projectors in. A little trimming needs to be done to get the shrouds to fit, but shouldn’t be too much of an issue. These didn’t come with blue lenses like the 3” projectors, but I decided on some old school blue demon eyes, on their way.

Moving the build forward with parts so far.
    2.5” S8 BiLED projectors
    Morimoto Bullet 2.0 shrouds
Profile Pivot turn halos (switchback won’t be used)
    Blue LED angel eyes.
The angel eyes are old school retrofit stuff. I figured they’re old enough to bring them back to these retrofits.

Installing demon eyes and painting the shrouds.
I painted the shrouds with the normal recipe of sanding the chrome off, painting with Bulldog plastic adhesion promoter, then color and clear.
For the demon eyes, I took apart the projector from the lens bracket. I modified the demon eyes from the supplied bracket and used double sided tape for placement at the top of the lens. Then used foil tape (used for heating ducts) to hold the LED in place. The brackets provided would not work with the BiLED projectors.

2.5 projector output shot. This is my neighbor’s house (they’re not home). The house is about 200 ft from my position. The green tarp right in front of me is a wind block they put up for their chickens. This is also only one projector. Pretty psyched about these!!
