Frame was wire brushed, ospho, primed and painted. Sprayed it with cosmoline RP342
Sanded the exhaust, treated with ospho and painted with high temp rust oleum.
Bed back on and road legal again. Didn’t get bothered for 2 weeks around town without any rear lights 0DF33914-A6F4-44B7-A95E-BB0D9B483E7C.jpg

From Etsy. This is the knob, the boot and the collar. The boot is a little oversized so I trimmed it.

I installed a battery monitor with Ampmeter. I absolutely don't need this but I've been learning electronics so I find it interesting.

It goes before the negative terminal on the battery so all current flows through the measuring device. It keeps a chart of volts and amps and uses it to estimate the remaining power in the battery and how long until it's empty.

It has a nice color screen that I haven't yet connected. For now I'm using Bluetooth to monitor it from my Android head unit. Notice it shows Charging under the battery; this switches to discharging when the engine is off. The temperature is from inside the engine bay.

    IMG_4033.jpg

This is the historical chart showing the amps and volts when starting the engine:

Had some scrap wood laying around and threw this together. Made some makeshift fishing rod holders on the inside boards from some pvc pipe.

They should be asking how ISIS got so many air drops, IRs, m4s, armored vehicles, etc etc. [“inadvertently”]

I had the eBay raptor style bumper on my watchlist after I saw @pyrite808's build. Never pulled the trigger on it though because I have a bull bar that I'm happy with for now. However, I do plan on upgrading to a @BashFab bumper next year sometime.

the grill insert can be found on alibaba or a few us "based" company's. Well worth the gamble compared to the sequoia grill that doesn't line up as well. And at a huge savings.

    Appreciate it!

eBay Raptor Style bumper - or Armadillo Bumper if you look off of eBay. Grill is alibaba.

Both were cheap and installed great!

Thanks! Is the bumper the one that is shown above that says 14-21? Does it fit the 7-13 or is there a different listing I can't find?

    1 or 2... I lost count
    upload_2023-9-30_16-1-25.pngupload_2023-9-30_16-2-25.png

Anything you like on 2014+ that only replaces the chrome bumper section will replace the same chrome bumper section on 07-13. Direct bolt on, no modifications needed.

If you see bumpers that modify the plastic trim below the headlights, they are not interchangeable. Unless you want to be a pioneer because I have not seen anyone attempt that yet.

I put the ironman4x4 bumper on mine which is also listed as 2014+ but it bolted up no problem.

Installed the Desert Does It Seat Jackers and Under Seat Compressor Mount. Although the compressor mount is designed for Viair 300 series compressors (or ARB compressors) I was able to install a larger Viair 450c compressor using Viair's compressor mount and drilling new holes in the the Desert Does It mount.

Spent 8 hours trying to replace the climate control dampener servo assembly. I’ve watched all the videos and aligned all the blend doors properly ( I think ). I can get the bottom part to snap in, but the top will not go in to place. I’ve been wrenching for 40+ years, but this may have me defeated. Not to mention you have to be a fucking contortionist in order to see what you’re doing.

Correct. The SDHQ hidden winch bumper. I think it calls for a Warn winch but I’m running a Smittybilt 12k lb winch and it fit just fine.

Is the new part exactly the same as the old? I've gotten a slightly wrong part and had that experience.

And I can’t remember where I found it online, but I used mount designed for in front of the radiator to mount the controller.

Thanks, It’s definitely the right part. It’s definitely not a job for the meek. I screwed up the first one so had to order another one. I’ll eventually get it. The hardest part is aligning the half moon gear that’s on the distribution box. I read another post where a guy said he spent 15 to 20 hours doing his.
