2006 Tundra extended cab with a damaged by fil bed. Repair is too expensive so considering replacing the entire bed with one from a salvage yard. Found a bed from a 2002 with extended cab. Will this bed bolt on without any modifications?

The bed length should be the same, as they share the same cab type. I can't say definitively whether all the bolt holes and other things are identical though. I'm sure many of us here would love to have confirmation though.

Pretty sure i've seen folks swap the newer taillights onto older trucks, the only other possible difference could be the fuel fill tube, but i'd assume thats the same, too.

Curious if you'd share the price. My bed is fine except the common wheel well rust climbing the bed side. Currently, considering just installing patch panels as beds go quick in my area.

Should bolt up. This thread touches on part crossover/compatibility: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Depending on mileage, you may want to consider proactively swapping in a new Denso fuel pump while the bed is off. If you're still on the original pump and nearing or over 200k miles, it's something I would personally consider. Pretty sure with the access cab you still need to drop the tank a bit, because the pump itself is under the cab, but if the bed is off, appears you can throw a floor jack and 2x6 under it, unbolt it, drop it a few inches, replace the pump, then lift and bolt it all back up.

    Just a thought ...

Sure, since I've changed my mind since my truck is white and the bed I looked at is silver. The yard wants 2k for the bed. A local repair shop quoted another 2k to paint it. I decided against a freshly painted bed and original painted cab. I looked at the bed in person and it appears to be in very good condition. Will continue searching for a white one. Here is a link:

Thanks for the fuel pump suggestion. I believe or hoping I won't have any trouble with the fuel pump for a while since the truck has just under 90k miles.

Fellow low miler here. 75k. Man, the other shit I and others on here found having a low mile truck ... I'd almost rather have the 200k mile truck, not kidding.

(That thread I linked has some pics of examples)

Another question. Are the double cab and access cab beds the same? Would a bed from a double cab bolt on to an access cab without any modifications?

if you’re REALL desperate, a step side bed off of an Access cab should fit. But keep in mind that it won’t get you any dates.
