Looks so much skinnier. Is it greasable? I'm not seeing zerks.

NFC what that cap was, unless that's what was covering the carrier bearing, what they used to pump it with grease or something before assembly? I don't recognize it, but virtually every driveshafts I've picked up was single-piece, taken off a used vehicle, and if it needed shortening, I carried it to a shop.

Pro tip: Doublecheck the torque on your bolts after 100, 200, 500 miles, with special attention to the two carrier bearing bolts. Just make sure they're in-spec. If you didn't already have TQ numbers, someone here can grab for you (or you can look in the FSM, which I think you have already)

Look in your old driveshaft And see if Theres a plate that keeps grease in the splines and out of the tube.

Just got off the phone with the Doorman company. They have good customer service. They said the loose part is a dust cap for the back of the slip yolk... He said he could replace the whole driveshaft or I could tack weld the cap in place... I decided to weld the cap in

Got a 19' TT for work in Pensacola.
The Tundra does great pulling it.
With cruise control in 4th gear at 3k rpm does 65mph no problem without any weight distribution bars

The v8 does it too. My trucks used oil gets used in mowers & chainsaws & whatnot.

Working great. Drove to West Virginia for Thanksgiving in the mountains. Had to use the 4x4 and it did awesome. I've put 14k miles on the truck since I fixed it this summer with only issue being the junk-yard alternator went out on me while driving from st.pete to Pensacola. Slept in the parking lot overnight at orielies and replaced the alternator in the morning and was back on the road

    No cab swap yet shifty

I'm working on this fuel filter but the lines are rusted and seized. I wonder if the v8's share the same lines

    IMG_20231224_102525.jpg

UPDATE: Yes the V8 and V6 have identical fuel lines from the tank up to the fuel pressure regulator

Good question, I’m not sure on that one. And yeah, that’s pretty f’n gnarly. Maybe has already been replaced once too? I’d be curious to see the paper filter inside to see how gnarly that is, after this recent aftermarket one we saw sliced open.

I'm sure this filter is going to be basically clogged seeings how I am having fuel problems under heavy load

If it were me, I’d slather some naval jelly all over that rust and let it hang out for 20-30 minutes before rinsing away. If no improvement, I’d hit it up two 2x more.

I’d also consider cutting or busting the nuts on the filter itself. Once you get the filter off it’ll be easier to deal with the rust on the line itself.

EDIT: But be ready to wear a face full of gasoline.

Wanted to show how I installed the topper.
I had to remove the plastic bed cap to get the topper on metal. The holes I covered with a sealing tape. I used self tapping screws with washers to screw the front and back of the rails down directly to the bed then used the two supplied clamps for the middle. I also used a camouflage net for a bug netting which I like.

A squirrel chewed a pin hole in a plastic fuel line causing a leak just above the gas tank.
This opened a can of worms because I've been fighting the clogged fuel filter and the rusty lines

Decided it was time to scope the junkyard...
Row83 encountered a 2001 V6 totally rust free, with a perfect bed on it! (that still thinking about getting.)
Didn't have much time so climbed right under and removed all the fuel lines except one of the main hi-pressure lines which someahole cut the end off with pliers and ruined what I needed. I got everything except that one last hi-pressure line...
Here is what we have so far:

@Bmktw2 has a freaking goldmine nearby. We rarely have any trucks hit my local yards. I have an alert setup with the major area chain for Seqs and Tuns. Rarely ever get emails, less than half dozen per year.

Goldmine is understating that fact, tbh.....
@Bmktw2 can you, if you have time and happens to visit a yard, look for a grey 2021 or 2nd-2.5G Tundra driver's side handle (both handle and trim piece, hardware<bolts> optional) and let me know how much?
It might be cheaper to have you get it and I pay shipping to get it here..... and quicker....lol

Taking apart the old line is literally impossible. It's all rusted together. Here's how it came off
    IMG_20240318_191610.jpg

My fingernail picked a piece of rust off and it opened this hole. It was just moments away from failing on its own...
    IMG_20240319_180335.jpg

Little by little removing it all the lines are frozen up. The could not even get the fuel filter bracket bolts were gone so had to just rip the rusty bracket off with pliers.
