I'd been eyeing up everyone else's and finally pulled the trigger since my old floor jack barely lifts high enough to get onto my 6 ton jack stands. Knew I'd need something with more reach to get my 6112/5160s installed and tire upgrade. This jack is definitely worth the money, well built and stout in every way imaginable!

So, installed a 42” DD light bar using the Hotshot Off-road custom brackets, with a bunch of help and answers from @memario1214 - thanks for your patience!
I have to say, the install of the brackets went well, aside from getting those darn nuts off the 3 bumper mounts. I recommend a set of pass through ratchets - made all the difference in the end.
The fit is perfect - highly recommend the brackets if you’re thinking about it.

The pass through wrenches are already in my shopping list. I have a friend who’s a mobile mechanic - he swung by, looked, went “oh, just use these”, passed me the wrenches, and it was done in 5 minutes. I’m not going to admit to how much time 3 of us wasted the weekend before trying to get the first couple loose… ;)

Hey, same wheels. I used plasti dip.

I’ve “dipped” every rim I’ve ever had. So I’ve done it about 6 times. 16-30y.o.

im pretty good at it, did my my girlfriends 2019 compass rims when she got it brand new and they still look perfect.

plastidip is more forgiving than paint and I love it, but cleaning and prep is still paramount or it will just peel away

the older I get, the more I lean towards permanent solutions though. Powder coating is prob best option for keeping stock rims and adding color but plastidip is cheap and get you where you wanna be fast.

I did a waterless wash yesterday then drove 350 miles home from Cali. 14.4mpg. I'll take it.

Those are great too; already have ‘em. Problem is those three bumper bolts are so close to one another you can only get about a 1/4 turn on the ratcheting wrenches, and lots of knuckle busting. With the ratcheting pass through sockets though, I imagine you might could get a good 1/2 turn or more.

Installed R1 concept rotors and pads on the rear today. I had a pretty bad metal on metal grinding coming from the driver rear. Took the pads off and they were completely worn off to the metal at only 62k miles!!!

Did you reset the parking brake with the new rotors ? Adjusted the star-wheel after dealer put on new rear rotors and tried to tell me the non-functioning E-brake was "working as intended" --lol, now I can put in neutral on a 90 degree hill and the truck won't budge with the E-brake engaged.

Watch vid and don't feel bad 99% of the dealer techs (even the factory) have no clue. For models 2007-2021

All I can say is that following that video and trying to adjust the cable with cat shield on is down right dangerous with the heat shield there. A deep socket works wonders if you take the jam nut off first.

Also, took my truck in to the dealership and they couldn't reproduce the car alarm. When they tested the battery with a tester (as I did at AutoZone) it showed as still healthy. However, when they checked with the 'Toyota specific battery check' (guessing he was referring to the techstream?) it showed the battery was bad.

They replaced my battery under warranty, and the random alarm hasn't come back in the ~18 hours I've had the truck. Hoping that was the issue and I can put this mess behind me.
