You are shocked that a bearing failed after a quarter million miles?

I just picked up a new battery, went to a local battery shop and asked if they had any blemished batteries. Got a brand new battery with a small scratch on the side for $55. Worth trying if you have a local battery spot.

That's interesting, gang! I didn't know this was a thing they do. All I usually do is check production date to make sure I get most recent piece. This time it was 06/23. Pretty fresh! There were some that had 12/22.

Finished upgrading my mirrors to power-fold tow mirrors from Boost Auto.

I wired the white reverse lights into the cargo light (thanks for the suggestion). I tapped into the brown wire in the driver's side door channel, but there are two brown wires and it's mathematically impossible for me to have chosen the correct one so I spent about 30 minutes troubleshooting that thinking my vampire tap wasn't connecting before I just cut the wire and discovered there was a second brown wire. If you do this, it's NOT the brown wire twisted around the red wire.

    IMG_2904.jpg

Now that I have a cargo light tap I can add some more courtesy lights.

Here's a photo of both mirrors folded with the courtesy lights on.

    IMG_2907.jpg

    And here's the courtesy light.

    IMG_2913.jpg

Overall I'm happy with them. I can see the sides of the truck much better and there's no blind spot. It definitely helps me make the tight turn into my garage which has caused me a few scrapes. The running lights look cool when the headlights are on and the progressive turn signals match my headlights. The ability to fold them is great because it makes it easier to squeeze past in my narrow garage.

I still need to figure out how to replace the ugly fold switch they included, which has some kind of logic in it making it more complex than just swapping the switch.

If someone wants OEM mirrors that are in good shape but have been very poorly painted Salsa Red 3Q3 send me a DM.

And now I've found the eBay Koyo assemblies for $150 per. Anyone seen a review on these? $500 for the bluepits is a lot of groceries...

No doubt. That's definitely on my mind. I've seen this particular listing linked here but of course no one's posted "yeah I bought & installed these", etc.

I went to the dirty deeds website for the injectors. Seems like a well received product/vendor so I'm giving them a whirl.

I bought the Koyo hub assemblies for my 4 Runner off ebay. They were fine. More confident in those than Dorman's or whatever else the parts store offers.

Aha! You're the man I've been looking for. Thanks for posting that. Like I said, I've seen them linked here and I've also seen someone post on the ih8mud forum and say they were gonna purchase/install them & report back but of course that didn't happen.

I wired my aftermarket foot well lights to turn on with either ACC power or the cargo light. Now, the foot well lights are on when I unlock the truck or open the doors, and they stay on when the truck is running.

I'm new to electronics so this is fun and cool to me. I attached diodes to both the ACC and cargo positive circuits and connected them to a single positive wire that goes to a switch and then to the aftermarket lights.

    IMG_2965.jpg IMG_2966.jpg

Just noticed I forgot to heat the shrink insulation on the butt connectors.

Yes my wiring is chaos and it's starting to catch up to me. I just keep adding one hack after another and at some point I'll need to pull all the wires out and install something organized and structured... But that day is not today so I just zip-tied all the chaos out of the way.

In-law purchased a travel trailer for the property so he can stay with us for longer periods, it’s a Grand Design Imagine XLS 22RBE. Hooked it up with the Anderson WDH and was a great test run for the new alcan leaf springs. Tundra handled it beautifully on the 45 min drive from the dealer.

Thank you! Yes they are WeatherTech window deflectors I highly recommend them. I am a big fan of weathertech products and have put them on every vehicle I have owned, luckily for me the previous owner and I have similar taste so I didn't have to purchase them this time around.
