Is there any trick to getting the tpms back working after getting new tires?
I figured that Americas Tire would reset them for me when they put my new tires on, but on my kenwood head unit, it just shows N/A for all 4's. They just put on tires, the TRD OR wheels stayed the same.

I went and fired up the truck today, pressed the TPMS button under the brake controller for about 3 seconds until the TPMS light on the dash blinked 3 times and went off. I let it idle in Park for a few minutes and went to go drive the truck for about 20min to pick something up...and another 20 min back. Still no tpms.

Is there a trick or something?

Well I read the manual, it says to put the key to ON and press the tpms button till the tire light flashes 3 times and wait 5min (same as before but this time the engine is off).

Gave this a try, and still the same.

Gonna give tundra234's method a try.

This worked for me. I didn't lower or adjust the pressure, they were all at about 45psi (returned from camping). I did step 1 through 4 and they are registering fine now.

We had to reset them after the 5th tire was put into rotation last week. It was reading the spare.

I tried the other method first, drove 3-4 days to work (10miles or so) and it refused to recognize. It has worked in the past though.

It sure isn't a user friendly system to get them recognized.

Did you just do 3 quick press/release of the button or press and hold?

at this point, i wouldn't be suprised if you have to press morse code into that button

    Pressed 3 times.

I think it flashed a few times. This was before I went to bed. When I drove to work the next morning, the warning light went away after 5-10 minutes of casual driving and all 4 rotating tires were recorded.

I was ready to pull the battery and try again if it didn't work as I drive around for three previous days and it never worked (using the long press).

So still no TPMS. I've tried every combination of long press short press.....press and hold.

For my 2017 if i press and hold for 3 second, i get 3 flashes of the tpms light then it goes off.

I stopped by Americas Tire this morning and asked them about it. They had a special scan tool, and all 4 sensors were reading correctly. The guy said they mainly use it to reset the system if the TPMS light is on after new tires (my light was off). He reset the system (manually read all 4 sensors, then plugged into the obd2, then manually read all 4 again, and plugged it back in). The tpms light was flashing when he was doing this, but its off after he plugged it back in for the second time.

He said everything is reading correctly for him, but he wasn't sure why its not showing on the head unit like it did before.

Now i'm starting to wonder if its something i need to reset in the maestro. I looked all through the head unit settings (Kenwood DMX1037s with maestro) and couldn't find anything about tpms in there. All the other engine info works fine (EGT/RPM/Trans Temp/MPH....) just not the page with the Tire Pressure and Temperature.

I might reach out to Tech12volt, maybe he's ran into this.

Edit: I read on a FJ Cruiser forum that people had the same issue with the maestro and support was able to help them out. Looks like theyre closed over the weekend. I'll call on monday.

Edit2: i went poking around, and cant find in the OEM SETUP page the same maestro info like i used to. I remember that was were "Reset PID" and some of the other oem integration info was located. Now i just see "Camera Settings"

    I'M AN IDIOT!

So i called idata earlier this week. Gave them the rundown about the TPMS not working. They said to order a 2k ohm 1/4w resistor and call them back when i have it to bridge the grey/red and yellow wire (dont quote me on this...check with them if someone else in the future is reading this). Amazon delivered it, and i called them. Service was super helpful and had me go into Settings->System->OEM SETUP->Maestro Settings.

Now, i had gone in here before.....i remember that there were a few different settings i used when setting up the gauges....but all i see is "Camera Settings"
    AIL4fc8vHsogm9oQwKYtcP-Y2DqK1HxddCl7fIvw_3bc0fe37bc6f3fdd9a80c731a21d36712284a103.jpg

I tell the support guy "all i see is Camera Settings....i remember seeing a lot of other settings previously".
"it sounds like you are on the second page of the setting"
    "sonofamotherfuckingsonofabitch......it better not......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
*chuckles* "press the up arrow and you'll see the Module Master Reset....that usually does it"

    AIL4fc8wSha890eYuhwMw9dG9LbpN25S17Fj6HmG_a92f72734d8913ae5a6a2b207871d1ffa892b1be.jpg

So i press it and drive around the block, and its all back to normal. TPMS/Temp all correct.

I have reset this stereo back to factory settings probably at least 3 times and it never occurred to me that its on the second page.
Hopefully this helps someone.....or if anyone needs any 1/4w resistors in the Sacramento area, i'm your guy!

    Looking for ideas
I had the same issue after installing new to me 1794 20" wheels and tires. The set was from a 2020 model. Tried the reset and drive around method several times. I stopped by my local tire shop today and he had them hooked up in 10 minutes. cost me $20.
