Argh! That's what I get for not checking this site. :/ Moving in a month or two and this would've come in handy. Ah well, you win some, you lose some. :)

My brother and I got mine installed yesterday. We couldn't really get the truck that high off of the ground which made it a bit more of a pain, but we got her done.

Did some driving around in the Utah mountains today for about four hours or so. High temps today were in the low 90's in the valley and almost as hot in the mountains. Previously I'd see pan temps around 215-220 and torque converter temps getting up into the 240's on these drives. Today I didn't see the pan get over 195 and the TC made it to 205-210 once or twice. I am a satisfied customer. Also no leaks, huzzah!

I have skid plates, (full cbi offroad), guess those will have to get removed I am guessing.

on average how long do these installs take?

I have a 2020 tundra crewmax on 35s and stock gears. In Texas summers I see 245-250 degrees.

anyone with the 15 or 20 row kit experience over heating the engine after install?

looking to regear and then do this kit after, hopefully the full 20 row kits are available by then.

What is your question regarding overheating the engine after install?

If based on location of the cooler, I can assure you that this is not a problem based on a few years of towing with the 15-row install, in ambient temps ranging from 45* to 102* F, running between 55 and 95% load on average. Coolant temps remain between 185 and 198.

If based on something other than cooler location, I'm curious to hear about it.

purely based on location and reduced? Airflow by stacking radiators.

I would think if the 20 row caused problems the 15 row users would notice a change.

I’m not a mechanic by trade, so I could be in the wrong ball park with this concern. You pretty much just convinced me it’s a non issue though.

there are fan kits available for these radiators though as well.

I'm not a mechanic, either. Here's what I think is at play (based on my experience):

    1) factory coolant system has a healthy margin built in, including to run the latest "puck" as only trans cooler (225-250*)
    2) the new trans cooler doesn't block all air flow, just reduces it some, over a relatively small area
    3) with the trans cooler, trans temps nearly match the coolant temp - this makes the "puck" operate at about 0% designed load, more than making up for the reduced airflow addressed in #2.

I'm surprised this kit hasn't moved yet.

I just need the bracket, otherwise I'd be all over this. Good opportunity for someone to get a kit with limited offering

I installed the cooler on my 2020 Tundra.

I have the Veepeak OBD reader and I’m using with the OBD Fusion app to read the ATF pan temp.

Is there a way to monitor both the ATF fluid going out to the cooler and also coming back from being cooled?

Do these readings even exist in the diagnostic system?

    Yes, with a scangauge.

The temp going out to the cooler can be read by the pan temp. The temp coming back to the cooler can be read via torque converter.

The fluid temperature going out to the cooler would be the torque converter temp. The returning fluid temperature would be the pan temp.

Is there anyone who has installed this kit and wants to part ways with this spacer? It's what gets removed and replaced with the thermostat on the trans. I'm going to be trading my truck in and I would love to pull off the cooling system to sell separately, but like a dummy, I tossed this piece and Toyota wants over $300 for it.

You’re going to love it. Easy install, I did it without lifting my truck up. And the support you get from Genuine Cooling Systems is second to none. They were there every step of the way with quick responses to every question I had.
