I planned on picking up most parts and hpt to get things going. Dealing with older dogs that cleaned out my fun funds...thanks and when I get it will reach out.

 

Yes 5-O 650s but they are running at 50lbs which makes them higher. (I think 700)

Found the sheet, 710-718 at 50lbs

 

Sorry about your dogs, I have dealt with that several times, it sucks. I hope you get a great outcome on their recovery.

We'll see how pops rig does. His tuning appointment is this evening. Then next week finally picking up his new gfc topper. Which was supposed to be ready in Feb lol

 

Cool Cool Cool. Spoke with buyer on the phone. Sounds super legit. Asked all the questions I'd anticipate a buyer asking. He asked about tuning it, the missing parts, estimated hp, the works. And still wants it!

He's in Michigan. If anyone knows of a reputable local installer, please let me know!

 

Are you coming to MT for the GFC? I'm 8 miles away from their shop! Come by my barn/shop for a beer and let's laugh at the "angry-crickets" making noise under our hoods!

 

I'd def stop by if I was! He's having it sent to the socal location for pickup and install. It's on my list of places to visit so I'll let you know when I do.

@nags what was the process to get your new ECU working? @Fastlane47 got a new ECU but when he plugged it in nothing changed, and the OBD2 port can't seem to talk to the new ECU.

 

@ViktorG since you're kind of back, do you have any insights to swapping an ECU?

Normally, you just stick the replacement ECU in, write the VIN and register the key and it will work.

 

Via Techstream?

 

VIN write is via Techstream (or some other scan tool that has the capability), key registration does not need the Techstream.

 

Just off the phone with pops. 2 hrs later he’s tuned. Ambient temp 102 degrees Iat temps 118 after long pulls. He saw 7.6-8.0 lbs of boost afrs sitting about 10.5. Said It freight trains all over especially up top now with the bigger box and tb.

just some more remedial cannon fodder:

1. My truck is consistently getting 19.5mpg on hwy trips (62mph). south Houston to Conroe. 90-ish miles. that's quite awesome, cuz that's what it got before the S/C.

2. had to bring our Electrician ( he has a hot rod Ford Falcon) up to Conroe to run a 220v line to the dock. I drive like a grandma...until we got to the on Hardy Toll Road ramp from beltway 8. it's a slight uphill, straight shot on ramp. I give it the beans..and my buddy says "oh shit".

3. IAT delta is still ~27 degrees (Harrop sensor). even tho it's 103 ambient 112 index

4. Drove the '34 Ford to my Mom's house...A/C is installed...BUT...electric choke is bypassed*. so this bitch does not idle when the A/C is on...and I was in traffic the WHOLE time. I was near heat stroke related death. luckily I can turn the compressor off & fan remains on. sitting next to a 350cu in heater sux.


Life is still good.


*any recommendations of a Houston/Conroe hot rod shop? I'm now wanting EFI & I think this damn car broke an engine mount.

Wow! I was looking for the Intercooler res bracket all over. Come to find it on the Lexus parts site! lol. They are having a sell right now, that appears to include TRD parts such as the Oil Cap, Radiator Cap, Shift Knob, and Supercharger components!

Edit: Sweet, now I have that elusive reservoir mounting bracket ordered!

It was $86 after checkout. But that part number came up as $136 on other sites!

I just typed TRD Supercharger in their search feature. They also go by the Prefex of "Supercharger Service Part"

According to the main thread on that sale, the Oil Filters come out to less than $4 each!

 

Well, the truck is running. The PCM did fail, and when I bricked it, it took out a fuse link under the hood. With the new PCM in its running. I will upload a tune Monday and take her home. Thank you guys for all of the help.

Wow, what was the value of that link? Had your ECU ever been opened up before? I just can't imagine what could've shorted in it to burn a fusible link. I've had mine open before and it's full of what I'd consider very low current capable components; surface mount stuff.
