Shucks. I’m not gonna even chance it then. Think I’ll stick to the stock flares and save money or buy something else. Oh well. Guess I ain’t joining the pro flare club. Lol

I land June 12th and there to the 28th. I bet even if the airlines charge me a decent amount, it can’t be more than nearly $500 Sparks quoted me.

I’m sure I could combine two flares in one box too.

Thank you jhtram! Your setup looks great! Gives me confidence the 1” is just right. Really glad I placed the order. My spacers were delivered last week and having them installed soon will share pics.

PS I am loving the Digicamo look. What other digicam parts can fit on our limiteds to match the flares? Already have the back bumper pieces, interested in other exterior parts that will match.

Thanks for all your help on this thread all, still hoping to wire these flares someday. Somewhat intimidated by the scope of the job if I’m being honest with myself!

Thank you Ryan! Re this TRD Pro digi camo front bumper cover, can anyone tell me how involved the install is for this part? I’m also hoping to install it but don’t want to remove the whole grille again if I can help it! Hoping it’s a relatively painless install, thanks!

Thanks Ryan! This is a super easy install! Not too expensive of a part either. Will give it a shot! (Update: Just ordered it, there was 1 left in stock at Sparks, should arrive soon). The rear spoiler is 4 times as much and mine is color matched so I’ll stick with OEM for that spoiler…

the good news is that with the flares, rear bumper arms and front bumper cover at least I’ll have all 4 sides represented! ;) Really liking the digi camo. It grew on me and gives the limited an awesome look IMHO

Wonder how hard the front bumper cover is to wrap? I've got some extra APA lunar rock film that I might try it out once I get the color matched bumpershellz stache overlay.

Having the spacers installed today will send before and after pics re how they match with the flares! Installers said, due to only 1” spacers, “it may be necessary to trim the stock wheel studs.” I don’t want to do this, for others who have installed the Spidertrax did you have to cut any stock parts or could they be installed retaining all factory lengths? I do not want to modify anything in case I want to go back to stock. Thx in advance for your thoughts

The dealer installed my spidertrax 1" spacers and did not have to trim the studs.

Thank you jhtram! I called Spidertrax and they also confirmed no alteration to the stock studs should be made. Glad to hear it!

Just got my truck back. No trimming of studs was required. I LOVE the spacers with the 285/65R20 and the TRD Pro wheel well trim. It totally changes the appearance and stance of the tires/truck. You know some mods give you an immediate feeling of satisfaction and joy? That's what this did for me today! Thank you all for your help. I totally recommend the 1" spacers. I don't think I would want more this is perfect (for me). Subtle and totally BA. A+!

Looks great Takiowaza!! Did you apply the red loctite?

so jelly, you already received you TRD fenders. Just placed an order for mine with my local dealer.

The forum members knocked it out of the park with the wiring tutorial.

Red loctite was used! And torqued to 130 ft-lbs! Will be returning to installers after 50 miles driven, to have the setup tested at 120 ft-lbs.

If wheel spacer/adapter lug nuts move at all, will repeat installation on those. I do not expect any movement! Super happy with the spacers can’t stop admiring the setup. So good.

You’re right: the illustrious members of this forum have knocked the flare light wiring process out of the proverbial park!!!

However I lack the skill to do it! My flares remain dark. They require the light! Must have an easier harness option. OR pay someone to share the magic! Cheers!

What's the best fuse tap location to use on the Premium Headlight models to keep these lights on when the truck is on? Planning to wire the grille and fender LEDs into one source.

I haven’t touched them for a while, been too busy with work. I am hoping to get back to this soon when I get my Westcott rear spacers.

This is where I tapped into mine for my grille lights. This is on all the time when the truck is on.

I will add the front flare lights to this and the rear to the tail lights.

I think the premium light setup won’t affect that.

    Awesome!
Do you know which color wire to have it on at all times in the rear? I bought the Diode Dynamics trailer harness adapter, so should be easy.

If you figure out the the DD Trailer Harness wire color, let us know.

I have the DD Trailer Hitch pod light and was also gonna wire my flare light to DD harness. Only if I’m able to snag a set flares in OKC.

The 7 pin connector map is available but my concern with the pod is that the possibility that the truck will think there is a trailer connected and go into RTCA panic. I was wondering if this pod affects this programming. If not, then taping into it makes perfect sense.

@iiawah808 does the pod cause the RTCA to shut off?

It doesn’t turn RTCA off. But great point…It may actually cause that to happen since the pod is connected.

So I just created a 2-pin dupont connector adapter for the marker LED lighting and it might work? 3D printed with cheap filament for now. Not the best water proof solution but the connector pins are perfect for the LED marker. Only thing is that it is 18 AWG wiring. Not sure how it will do for longer extensions as I plan to run 4 of these up to one 7.5A fuse in the engine bay. I'm not an electrical circuit load genius.

Anyone think this will be fine to connect my TRD Grille lights + all 4 fender lights (18 AWG) into one 7.5A fuse tap with a 5A fuse?

Nice work on the connector. To answer your question on the wiring gauge, you will be perfectly fine with 18 AWG. The 5 amp fuse will also work fine (the wire will handle much more than 5 amps). 18 AWG is actually what I used, but only because I ran out of smaller wire and forgot to order more. You will likely be under 1 amp of draw with all 7 lights on the same circuit. I pulled under .2 amps when I did a quick test with the front 5 marker lights on.

I can see that being a lot of wire but it makes sense to tap the lights at the 4 pin trailer plug. Glad to hear the the RCTA isn't affected which was my concern, it is probably triggered off the trailer brakes like you suspect. I would need a few 100 feet of wire for my land barge!

Running a fuse tap is probably the easiest approach but offers very little control if you want to be ins stealth mode ;)

Great work @trailhunters!! If your 3D printer setup works, you could generate harnesses for this application! I and many others would absolutely buy them from you if it could mean plug and play installations for our Trd Pro Wheel Wells! Great work again BTW!!!

I'll test and see if it works first. If so I'll release the 3D model for free here and could possibly offer a print service if you don't have a printer - just pay for shipping and material. I'll keep you posted.
