2013 Sequoia Limited to TRD FAUX build now with BOOST!

This is before I moved the film inside, it's hard to see but it did not look great.

 

I am sure it was fine but I was not thrilled with the gap so did this.

 

Thanks to @RainMan_PNW for the idea, I just did the chalk bag water bottle mod, I didn't have a dowel so used an old WIFI antenna.

I tried to get the made in USA bag he has but between not being prime, so having a 7.xx shipping fee on top of the 35 buck cost of entry AND being 2 weeks to ship, I got this one for 16 all in delivered in one day.

 

My Wife saw the bag yesterday, (no bottle) said it was a cute little garbage bag.

Some a$$hat in China just tried to steal my Apple ID. Hassle signing back into all my stuff, guess less than getting my sh!t back.

 

I got a damaged in transit radiator, tired to replace it was a week at best.

I argued with Amazon about not getting a replacement in a timely fashion so loudly they said keep it & have your damn money.

I need a good radiator to go to L.A. at 3am tomorrow so I took the damaged radiator to a shop, they pressure tested it & found it good, tested mine & it's leaking, they installed the new one, I was running at 205 before pre overflow nipple breakage, now it is 190.


I will order the CSF when I get back from L.A.

They sell those bags in the original DIY post at REI, if you're near one. I actually use the same chalk bag as an actual chalk bag for climbing, and it's one of the best!

That’s where I bought my chalk bag actually - at REI in Chandler.

 

Thanks, climbing stairs is as close as I'll get. If I need chalk for that I have way bigger problems!

 

Worst part, it's a Limited so had the Optiron white gauges & white HVAC. WTF with the hideous amber switches???

Little by little I'm getting there, I hope to get down to only the HVAC fan speed & mode being Amber, just a few left!

Do the newer ones have blue lights on the mirror? I have the compass mirror with amber switches.

Soooooooooo, 260 miles in on my trip tp L.A. I lost all fuel pressure. Towed to a Goodyear, happy they can get to it in about an hour, not so thrilled to pay 550 to r&r the tank and hopefully install the hose for the last time.

It's the hose, other guys used but the mechanic said it is not high-pressure They are ordering the right one & will make sure it is together correctly & it will have a warranty (but I'd have to drive to Indio.

 

The fuel pressure gauge paying for itself in spades

 

Yup, irritating that this hose failed.

 

These guys are great, they took me to Napa, only local place that has it, (I have this same 50.00 hose at home) so I did not have to pay their markup.

 

The Napa hose is a Gates, the guy put it in and says it is good, I have a warranty so It's Goodyears problem now.

 

...that's in my truck now...It said 100 psi submersible...ugh! Well, at any rate I'm not putting the s/c back on that truck. But at the same time, the 450 walbro fuel pump is still in the tank too

 

All I can come up with is I must have gotten a knock off.

Truck is fine, drove the final 100 miles without incident, fuel pressure is higher, I have a 13mm wrench to loosen the retaining nut but not allens, going to buy a cheap set for the truck.

 

I was about to order the CSF but searched reviews & there are several not great ones & it only has a 2 year warranty vs lifetime for Mishimoto so.

I've got their oil cooler in the M3. Have had their radiator sitting in storage for years now. Was waiting for the vented hood to arrive (now cancelled), because while it keeps the fluid colder longer, it does increase temps under the hood. And that's the main thing I was trying to alleviate. These E46's run hot!

 

Washed the 700 mile L.A. trip off.

 

Jowett drain kit came.

 

3rd cluster was the charm, truck passed smog & is now registered until 5/25. Swapped the 18+ cluster back in. Hopefully we'll be in Mexico before then, if not, I'll swap the clusters.

 

Radiator came, FedEx just dumped it at my door, did not ring the bell. WTF???
