    GENERAL PARK REGULATIONS

The operation of powered unmanned aircraft, including drones, is prohibited in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

    https://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/638/files/park magazine 2016_finalweb.pdf

Goes back to being a good steward of the land we recreate in. There are reasons that you can research why drones are not allowed in our open spaces. Please follow the rules, you're not above them.

    Also, cool truck

Never said I was above the rules, I didn't know and didn't think to look it up. Thanks for the gut punch. Going forward, I'll keep that in mind.

I'm confused... (Not unusual, just ask my wife )

The videos he linked are titled "San Jacinto Mountains" and you referenced regs for Anza-Borrego SP.

Aren't San Jacinto mountains in Riverside county, north of the SP?

Though on another note, yeah I can think of some reasons why drones could be an issue under certain circumstances.

Yeah I had videos of Anza Borrego and I removed them. I was unaware of the drone restriction in Anza.

thanks for the proper response. most people would laugh and say something like "fuck you" but they are generally self-centered jerks. you are one of the few that actually try to be a better person. keep it up!

Some great ideas here and also good info on no fly zones for the drones. Good looking out @grave
    Let's keep it going.

So this weekend I was going to fly the drone in Johnson Valley but I can't find anything that says I can or can't. Then I found this app.

It says I can fly in Anza Borrego. I know that PDF said something different but it was from 2016. Rules/regulations might have changed.

Couldn’t find anything? A quick google search of “anza borrego desert state park drones” gives several returns stating that no, according to federal law, you cannot. It says so on the park’s home page under Park Regulations.

    https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638

“-No person shall launch, land, or operate a powered unmanned aircraft or Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) within Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.”

    No Drone Zone

-Drones are prohibited in the airspace above the reserve for several reasons, including the visual threat to wildlife and intruding on visitors' experience. For detailed information on the Posted Order 940-15-002 - CDD Unmanned Aircraft. and to reveiw the web page regarding the State authority over airspace.”

I know areas in red are a no-go, but other than that it's not clear.

We had an amazing time camping at Oceano Dunes for 5 days. We had movies and fire for the kids and I had my hot showers with an amazing view and we helped a Yota brother in need.

Golden hour and evenings were windless, but during the day it was windy sometimes. Awning with walls was super helpful.

any recommendations for camping along the 101 (or 30 minutes off) between santa barbara and santa cruz? Heading up to SC in June and want to stop for a night or two along the way. I would head up HWY 1 which was was supposed to re-open this april but there has been more damage recently causing new closures [IMG] so we'd have to backtrack a lot to get back to the 101. stealth/BLM/USDA dispersed is preferred.
