Installing Westcott sliders

Anyone install the westcott sliders on their truck yet? Been sitting and waiting on an install video so I don't totally screw it up but still nothing posted on the youtube.

 

I’m sure most mounting points should be the same or close to all other sliders. Check out the other brands for install vids

 

Westcott has great customer service, I’m sure if you contacted them they will give you specifics for the Tundra. Like terra said, should be very similar to tacoma/4Runner with minor nuances along the way

 

Westcott just released a install video on the 3rd gen Sequoia, similar to Tundra frame.

 

Just had them install these on mine. Excellent workmanship and buy once, cry once. They look great and solid as all get out.

3rd Gen specific

 

Was able to install these over the weekend. Using the two videos, I was able to scribble down some basic instructions to myself. A few notes:

1. I ultimately used the rivet nut tool

linked in the sequoia video. You'll need an M12 bit to get the rivet nuts installed. The handle on the one I used was 16", which was too long to get under the frame without jacking up the vehicle first. I just got the vehicle on a couple jack stands to give myself the clearance.

2. Aligning the sliders was a bit interesting, though not that bad really. I used two jack stands and the floor jack on the mounting side. Put all of this on a huge piece of cardboard so I could "slide" them into alignment. Once aligned, the floor jack brought these right up into place.


3. The sequoia video was helpful for sizing of tools...and step up sizes were spot on. Though, have a good set of sockets / wrenches handy as it's not an all inclusive list.

4. The "funky little things" as quoted in the video were easy enough to get on. I originally had used an impact driver to reverse out the 5mm bolt, but found that it was actually easier for me to just use a hand ratchet with the 5mm hex bit attached. Both worked.

They look great. I'd rate my handyman skills as "average" (enough to tackle most things on the honey-do list) though my experience on vehicles is very limited. Was able to get them on with no major issues...
