    PMG,
Thanks. I'll look into it. Customer service being what it is these days I doubt anyone will want to fix free of charge.
I do have the one click for driver door & two clicks for all doors (except the current failed actuator).

Update. I went to "Hear No Evil" which is a higher end stereo, alarm shop in Salem Oregon. They installed the Viper 5806 with the remote start and everything went well. They did mention that they had to configure it as a 2014 or 2015 Sequoia. I forget which year at the moment. The remote start even stays running unless you touch the break. They have it set up so I can hit the remote start, get in and put in the key and turn it to start and drive off. Anyways. Win win. Thanks for all your responses. It is appreciated.

Update on the Viper. I finally got the Viper 5806 system with the remote start. Apparently the 2017 Tundra can have one of two different sets of wiring and software from the factory. One will work with the 2017 Tundra firmware from Viper, the other setup will only work if programmed as a 2014 Sequoia. As luck would have it, I had to have mine set up as the Sequoia, but it has worked wonderfully. I am completely thrilled with the work done. They are a little more on the expensive side, but if you are in NW Oregon, I suggest a company called "Hear No Evil", they are located in Salem Oregon and from what I have seen and from most everyone I have talked to, they are the gold standard. They even hooked up my front and rear LED bars to toggle on and off via the Aux button on the Viper remote. Again, they are the gold standard.

The Toyota factory wires are extremely thin so I suggest soldering because normal T-taps will not work or will fail especially for the locking of the doors. And issues with the factory starts are the keys. For my 16 it was discovered that there was another key floating around in the world linked to my truck. A third key I didn't know about that needed to be synched to the Viper system for the remote start. I found a way around it by re flashing my keys by a computerized lock smith and eliminating the third key that was floating around. Dealerships I have found are starting to have a third key for repo reasons and since the car is still under contract it is allowed. Believe me I have no credit issues but I hear dealerships are starting to do this because they know its saves them in the recovery process. Anyways re flashed my keys so only my keys work and that third floating key does not and the Viper worked perfect.

    Cisko,

Did your system ever work correctly & then begin to fail? I can't comprehend how an idle key in another vicinity could have an effect on the remote start system. I only have the two keys so I'm wondering if this is somehow happening to me.

They couldn't get the remote start to work and they just didn't like the t taps because the wires were so thin. Now it works perfect! I guess the keys need to be synched with the viper system. The troubleshooting came when the installers discovered another key some where in the world existed. Which the installer had a locksmith eliminate. And let me tell you the locksmith i'm talking about hooks the computer to your truck and does something with the keys. All computer!! Not a locksmith grinding another key.

Ok, so since mine once worked properly it doesn't sound like it's a key issue. In the dark again....

Keys are 'registered' in the truck's software using Techstream. When I connected my PC with Techstream loaded, I can see how many keys are registered and other system status' and change some parameters. This is where you add / remove keys and remote access. Somewhere there is a thread about adding a 'switchblade' type key that explains it in more detail, but yes, keys are physically cut, and then registered with the security features and remotes are also registered via software.

    Michael,
How much you paid (parts + labor) for your Viper 5806?
I live in Oregon too and I'm about to purchase a remote start as well.
I was looking onto AdvancedKeys (https://advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK105B.html), but no one wants to install it here.

Mine was a little more involved. I paid $925 installed but that included the remote start, the added sensor for my tonneau cover and the tie in where I could turn on my front and rear LED bars via the Aux button as a toggle switch for it. I had it done at "Hear No Evil" in Salem. I am quite pleased with their work. They are pretty much considered the gold standard here.

Also forgot to add one part. The techs at the shop stated that apparently with the 2017 Tundra at least, two different setups are out there, one they can program as a 2017 Tundra and everything works fine, others though, mine included had to be programmed as a 2014 Sequoia. I have no idea why, all I know is it works great. No issues whatsoever.
