I really like my TRD Pro flares but they don't cover much more than about 3/4" past the regular flares. I have ET+15 wheels with 295/60/R20 tires and I still have some poke on the front wheels.

I would have gone with the RC Sport flares (for more poke coverage) but my back order shipped on the TRD Pro flares.

if the trd ones dont work out, i imagine plenty on here will pounce on them.

i will be looking for a set myself minus the wiring of the lights (dont care for them) just want the extra protection. if those dont work out, will move to the rc sports like you.

I was thinking about getting the RC sport style color matched, but $800 bucks might make me wait a bit. Wife is having a baby tomorrow!

Early congrats on the new addition!

The black plastic RC Sport Flares look pretty good and have a bit of a shine to them from what I can tell from other who have installed them. The TRD Pro flares will run about the same as the RC plain ones. Either way, you will cover up some poke. They can be painted later if you want to defer some cost.

The bonus to the RC Flares is they wrap the entire wheel well so better protection for the sides of the truck. The TRD Pro flares will allow use of the OE mud flaps, I am not too sure if this is the case with the RC Flares and the OE mud flaps.

The TRD ones say they need wiring to get the side markers to work. I like them but not sure if I should just let them be or do the wiring or if wiring is available on an SR5?

You don’t need to wire them if you don’t want to. There is no one way to wiring these. If you want to wire them on all the time, that is straight forward. Or you can tap into the marker lights to get them to cone on with the other lights. Some guys just don’t wire them at all.

yeah i wouldnt wire them imo. just like i have an issue with the front 3 marker lights on anything not required by federal law to mandate a truck having them come from the factory.

makes me cringe when i see a taco or a 4runner with them. just looks so out of place, but thats just me.

Got my UpTop Diamondback Truss Bed Rack finally installed today!

It feels bomb proof and still allows opening a side at a time.

It feels it! Last bar crosses the bottom of the digital rear view mirror but not enough to bug me. Obviously if I put anything on the rack its gonna block but for the majority of the time it won't be of concern.

I put my Thule on my DB and kept it a bit higher to clear my camera.

I am going to make a lower cross bar set for the bike racks next.

The DB covers are great for adding functionality.

I was on the fence about the Thule for a while but what won me over on this one was the way it mounted using the existing anchors

I had to make some feet for the Thule and cut it down to a good height.

New tires. Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 285/75R20 (35”x11.50”) on factory TRD Off-Road wheels.

No trimming required except for a small corner at the front mud flaps. A better alignment possibly would have solved that issue but I simply trimmed it up and called it a day. I’ve tested lock to lock with a good amount of articulation so far. The spare.. It took a little work but I was able to put a full size spare in the stock location. You can pull the tire towards the passenger side a few inches while having someone crank it up into place. Just make sure you have some clearance between the pan-hard bar as it will be very limited. The tires are remarkably quiet for how aggressive the tread is and somehow handle better than the factory tires. Ride quality has improved as well which is again remarkable because these are load range E tires. Gas mileage has taken a hit of course, and the total tire and wheel package weighted in at a whopping 107 lbs.. I still managed around 17 mpg but it will take some time to see if that sticks. Anyhow, if you’re like me and are on the fence wondering whether or not they’re worth it, I can now say with confidence that absolutely they are worth the extra cash. Bonus points for being 3 Peak rated.

Icon 2.5 VS up front with 7/8” preload - 58670

Icon 2.0 Aluminum series shocks in the rear w/ AirLift 5000 Ultimate bags. I also have a 1/2” Cornfed spacer on the rear and some YotaMafia extended brake lines (rear only).

Driver’s side seat cover installed and tailgate mat in use. Not going to affix it to the tailgate at this time. It’s really nice on the knees when you need to get in the bed.

Tapped into the license plate light(green wire=hot, white/stripe=ground). This method will make marker lights only come on with headlights on. Ran the wire loom through the tailgate loom path. Overall not hard after figuring out a good spot where the tailgate doesn’t smash the lights. The light design is tapered to help with this with the Ram tailgate. Very bright and oe feeling.

Got it back from the shop. Installed a Jupiter Inverter, Battery, USB, 110 outlet with toggle on off switch, and new tweets for the dash. 0 gauge wire, usb is always hot when car is on.

wow what a difference in sound quality!

I have the ability with this set up to add a 110 to the bed of the truck off the same inverter. It will run with truck off, and when truck runs, it charges the battery. Inverter fit nice under console.

If you live in OC California I did it at West Coast auto sound. Very clean job. $1300 for everything installed.

The shop assured me it shouldn’t be a problem. I asked them specifically about cooling because they would have just as easily mounted it next to the battery behind the seat. I’ll feel around when i just it for a long period of time like on road tripes etc. Time will tell.

Swapped my SR5 to the 1794 steering wheel last night. Got it off eBay, swapped my trim over to match my interior, and dyed the tan stitching blue to match the truck.

Took about an hour and now I have a heated leather steering wheel instead of the cheap plastic rubber wheel.

How did you get the heated function to work? It has a plug and play wires available ? Or did your sr5 already have a heated one ?
