Need a new receiver and am overthinking forged vs welded. I'm sticking with steel not aluminum. I like Curt. Both are same price. Both work for the drop range I need. This is probably akin to ford vs gm or a best type of engine oil debate but... experience or comments on either of these? Part of me also likes the B&W 'we make it right' warranty, anyone have experience with B&W warranty, or Curt warranty?

I guess it would depend on what you're towing. B&W is good as well.

Well one is rated for 14k and one for 15k… hopefully neither of which you are towing. So get the cheaper one.

Towing various trailers, 1500-7500lbs typically, question was really on forged receivers, never had one before, don't know anyone who has. I'll just stay the course and get the welded version.

I have the curt C45900 from your first link and I have been very happy with it. I havent towed anything over 8500k lbs with it either though.

I did buy it for a LOT less from etrailer.com

In 2021 it was $154 before tax, it might have been a sale though.

Amazon has it for $175.21 right now with the pin. For some reason I feel like I had to buy a longer pin for mine. Maybe that was my old receiver.
