Just a very small upgrade...the center caps on my wheels were cracked when I got the truck so I ordered a gently used set on eBay and they arrived today.

Also improved night time visibility quite a bit with LED headlights, high beams and reverse lights. Bought the tail light LEDs but they didn't arrive as soon as the reverse lights. Also have the amber ones for the rear turn signal but I'm waiting on resistors to show up for those so they don't hyperflash. Oh and I ordered a few new TPMS sensors. One went bad, and the seller had three for a reasonable price so now I'll have 2 spares in case more of them go out.

Just a heads up for anyone who needs tires soon -- first tank of gas since buying these and I'm on pace to get at least 20 more miles between fill-ups than with the previous tires. And I always kept the tire pressure at spec with the old ones. These not only ride nice but they're saving a little fuel for me too!

look more smoked than my v-lands.

Also I’m assuming you’d need a converter harness and the trim pieces if you bought those as well, unless you had an 18-20 sequoia

Yes I would assume the same harness and new trim pieces painted to match. Not in my budget atm but thought I’d help empty member's pockets.

Today I was all geared up for frustration and lots of broken t-30 bits to get my fake bead locks off of the rock warrior wheels. I had read numerous accounts of people using up to 18/20 plus bits to get the screws out of the wheel. Apparently the loctite Toyota used is a real bugger and just breaks the tips right off of the bits.

So I gathered up all the torx bits I could find around my shop and grabbed the PB Blaster and went to work hoping I had enough bits to get the job done. 3 broken bits later and I had only broken 9 of the total 48 screws loose. So off to lowes I went. I bought a couple of different brands of bits and headed back home. The first pack I opened was the wiha terminator blue impact rated set. 15 minutes later I was done and still using my first bit with not a one more broken.

I used a ratchet to break the screws loose , then my driver to get them out. Not sure if that's why I didn't break more bits or these are just rated correctly?

Anyhow, If you're interested in this diy, I can't recommend these bits enough.

But here's my question to this great community. As I'm waiting for my plastidip coats to cure I'm thinking this may be a few days before I can get the bead locks back on. Should I reattach the screws into the wheels, or just leave them out for a few days?

My other question revolves around using plastidip itself. I've never used it, and was wondering if I should follow the same rattle can procedure I normally do for prep. Clean, sand, clean again and primer. The can doesn't mention any primer needing to be used in the application process.

Appreciate all feedback ahead of time. ThanksIMG_6970.jpg

Just tape. Heat gun, clean shop towels, goof off and some elbow grease will get those emblems off.

In addition to this, I also use some fishing line and work it back and forth in a flossing movement. The technique leaves some emblem tape behind but it doesn’t scratch the paint. Then I fingernail the tape off. Then, ppl have no idea if I am a Tundra or a Prius until I tell them.

Please let us know what you think when you get them. I was looking at AM-Autoparts branded ones and heard good things so far. These look pretty identical to those. Coupon expires May 31, so we'll have enough time to buy them if you think the quality is good.

Picked up some of the TRD Pro BBS wheels... with tires (31" unfortunately, wish they were 33's) and got them installed yesterday and took off the camper shell. Gave the truck such a better look.

In addition to what the others said, you may want to grab an Eraser Wheel while you are at it. They are $10ish off Amazon and work wonders. I have one ready for when I do my badges...

I fixed some static in my rearview camera and my flickering dome lights by simply polishing the positive battery connections.

Also, a post on here last week reminded me to check my filters (engine and cabin). Maybe I can remind someone else to do theirs with these pictures. Looking at my notes this is about 11 months /20k of miles. Total cost for filters $25 on Amazon (Denso).

Hey bud, I filled up today and did some math. 250 miles on 17.6 gallons. Comes out in the 14ish mpg range. This last tank has been mostly stop/go city driving and several trips to Lowe's to get 20+ bags of mulch so I can't really complain. Not much of an improvement over stock, but I can't explain it, it really does run different than the OEM injectors. Everything feels smoother and the power is delivered faster, but somehow softer.

Out of curiosity, after filling up the tank and hopping on the highway I hit reset on the MPG calculator and doing 60mph it got up to 21.5 mpg sustained for about 10 miles. I don't really know if I buy that. I'll report back once I make a longer trip.

In addition to this fine reminders, I would also recommend sensor cleaning at this time. For a nice smooth idle during all conditions, remove that MAF sensor and hose it down 3 to 4 times with a Quality brand MAF sensor cleaner and reinstall it. No need to disconnect battery.

    - cheers

That’s a lot better than I get… currently 9.8 in the city and a struggle to hit 12 on the highway. Granted truck is on stock gears with 35s and a RTT and bedrack. I’d be interested in giving them a shot for the ole 4.7. Also planning on doing spark plugs once I hit 250k (never did them at 200k)

I do think it’s gotten so bad since I got my tires balanced with balancing beads and the tire shop I went to didn’t do a great job unfortunately (steering wheel shakes at about 55-65 depending)

I painted my key to match my truck. I'm a beginner at automotive painting and so the results are bad, but I can always redo it when I have more patience.

Picked up a used covercraft custom sunscreen from facebook marketplace. It was listed for a 2015, but fit the 2007 just fine, they have the same windshield. Been wanting one of these for a while but the $100 pricetag scared me off. Snagged it for $30.

I think at this point I have everything possible to help beat the Florida heat. 5% tint all-around, 50% on the windshield, sunscreen when parked. Can open the windows from my office with the 3W module to let the hot air out, and then remote start to get the AC pumping.

Washed it… been thinking about Raptor Lining the bed but wanted to check out what lies underneath the plastic bed liner before I got my hopes up and bought stuff…. Turns out the bed rot is a little worse than I was expecting for a southern truck. Now I gotta find someone capable of cutting out the cancer and welding in new metal. Not exactly high on the priority list in life though, so I cleaned the hell out of it and threw the liner back in.

Liners going to make it worse.
They sell a rust eating spray paint, get a can and treat the areas for now. Ditch the liner, it’s not doing you any favors.

get an angle grinder with a flap disk and grind off the rust thats present now, from the pictures it looks alright, then get some rust reformer paint and coat it

It looks pretty deep, bro. There’s a hole smaller than a dime near the most aft passenger bed bolt. I used some 60 grit sandpaper for about 45 seconds thinking I’d clean it up and spray over it but it wasn’t worth it.

the metal in the affected areas is done for. I picked several large pieces of it off by hand and then washed several others free using the pressure washer. It needs to be cut out and replaced. There’s no paint/primer that’s helping this.
