It may be that you could add the pieces you want to make the DB cover work for you.

I am on my second cover (second truck with a cover) and have the Kayak racks installed and will be adding a set of cross bars for the bikes. You can do a-lot with these covers. DB also sells a ton of add ons and boxes!

I've been deciding the route to go with the Tundra for almost a year now. I have a cab height canopy on my Tacoma but wanted to go without it this time to keep camera and roll down window usable. For what I carry in the bed all the time the options are very limited so I just narrowed it down to these two I mentioned.

Installed a Talon's Garage Powder Coated carbon steel Cat Shield today weighing in at 38.6 pounds. Used a Craftsman ATV jack to position the Shield making it easy to install the tamper proof bolts:

Got some 295/70/18 Cooper at3 XLT tires installed on my otherwise stock TRD OR. No rub on normal street driving, even with mud flaps. Very happy with these tires.

did the powder coat chip at all? We have a huge disclaimer but are not getting a ton of feedback so we are hoping that is good news!

I’ve got pics on my build thread, if you want to see it in use for the 3rd Gen. The pics are when I installed my swing cases, but you can see the bed rug. I really like it. First time I’ve used one and I’ve been impressed. It has this ability to make loading easy by allowing things to slide but they don’t slide around while driving/turning, if that makes sense. I’m sold on them.

I'm liking this bed cover. One question, what happens if there's a load shift from hard braking that moves cargo to the front of the bed? Do you have to crawl under it to shift the cargo back to open the cover?

Looking good. They look pretty squared up. Any chance you can post a shot at more of an angle to show how much the tires balloon?

    I'm a satisfied customer!

Purchased Talons Garage Powder Coated carbon steel Cat Shield for a discount with possible powder coat issues as stated on their website. Before installation I inspected the shield only finding one small 1/4" powder coat blemish on the transmission side of the shield where it was bent in a brake before powder coating that can be easily touched up with black paint. The bottom of the shield is perfect as seen in my photo.

Could not believe how fast you shipped the shield. On the same week I ordered it, received it and had the shield installed. Your link with instructions were great. The fit was perfect and easy installation for this 67 year old in the driveway with the Tundra on ramps.

Been looking on your website, do you have a Cat Shield for a 2003 2.4L Base model Tacoma?

    Thanks!

Hopefully this helps a bit. This is at about 40 psi. Less bulge than you would expect on a 7.5" wheel.

Thanks for that. I like it. Pretty squared up even on the 7.5” wheel. I have the exact same truck as you and will keeping the stock wheels and going with the Coopers in this size when I’m ready.

This cover folds downward.would have to if the load slid all the way to the front where the cover sit when opened. With the spray in liner I wouldn’t think much would slide unless you braked pretty hard.

You'll love them. At 40 psi, the difference in ride quality is minimal. I'm 100% happy with these tires this far.

I took my flat black plastic fender flares off - getting ready to put the new Pro flares on. I am going to post them in the classified section soon.

I took my Timbren's out and put the OE bump stop back in, the ride should be much better!
