Tired of 6500k lamps and want something warmer?
Would you like lighting suitable for city AND country roads?
Do you need beams that cut through rain, snow, and fog like a true champion?!

    Yup, me too

My factory headlights were busted and yellow. I made the mistake of replacing them with aftermarket housings and while my lights seemed brighter the high beam pattern looked like a blotchy crosseyed monster in the distance. While the low beams looked okay it was still the same dull 1st gen lighting' l considered the 80-100 watt upgrade but figured that wouldn't help my pattern situation very much and figured the best course of action a projector upgrade.

So here I settle on the the LED COLIGHT Y7S for it's three color temperature settings of 6500k, 4300k, and 3000k. The high beams only operate at 6500k.

They operate as you would expect, switching the lights off and on changes the color but switching the high beams on and off will not change the temp you have it set to. One oddity is the selection sequence goes 6500 - 3000 - 4300, a small inconvenience for me because I prefer 4300 in most fair weather cases.

    And now for the bad.

Never have I heard anyone mention severe RFI problems on the LED COLIGHT mini projectors but guess what, the Y7S has a LOT. Like all of the RFI.
So determined the best course of action was to interfere with the interference with some nice cheap ferrite cores. Just search your favorite sleasy online storefront and they are usually available in 10 or 12 packs for 10 USD.

Just clip one on each wire where they exit the headlight. Then one on each wire after the little canbus housing and you've got it beat.

And that brings my TED talk on mini projector LEDs to a close.

Just to be clear on this - Every time you turn off/on the truck, it defaults to 6500? And you need to cycle the lights twice to get to 4300k temp?

That would drive me nuts. I do prefer the cutoff line on these Y7S more than the Y6 bulbs, though, or the older CO-LIGHT/BraveWAY bulbs others have posted for the 1st Gen.

It is a bit much. Couple that with the fact I have switchback fog lights and things get down right convoluted. I end up using the 3000k setting most often now, this way clicking the lights off and on one time gets me there. I wish more companies would offer options for people that don't like the icey white lights.

How are you liking these? I'm going to get these installed sometime in the next week. They're sitting in my garage waiting for me
