Does an I force 4.7 normally have a sound that reminded me of that signature sound of a diesel but very subtle??

Are you complaining about the ticking noise? There’s a fix for that.

Is there? Mine does it too. I was always told it was the injectors.

And yes, @Copernicusqbnzs, it's a thing. And it's significantly audible inside the cabin if your steering shaft seal at the firewall is blown out.

I mean, we'd need to hear what you're hearing.

I can't count the number of people on here who've complained about a constant ticking. I'm one of the many. It's a faint tick, almost like lifter rattle. My truck has very light 75k miles on it and it didn't see hard work.

If you're hearing more of a knock than a tick, then I have no idea wtf you're talking about. If it is, I'm curious if the check engine light is on or codes are stored.

You really want to read this thread, it tells you about all you need to know on these trucks: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Since you're buying, uh, I guess, it's even more important you read that thread so you don't wind up like other poor fellas who didn't know what to look for.

Recently, well not recently that I’ve noticed it, after I did 12 hole injectors it was more pronounced; a rough/tickity idle at a stop. When I put 91 in recently, it went away completely

I mean, next time I had 50c/off per gallon in Shell rewards, I may give that a try. 91 is like $4.50/gal or something nuts like that over here right now. $2.95-3.05/gal at 87 is much more palatable.

Worth mentioning though, I do run Seafoam semi-regularly, and it's sorta like an octane booster, so I'd expect that would smooth stuff out a bit. I know it cleans the hell outta injectors.

Yeah I had some side job money so I was like eff it.

I thought of you today, I need to change oil before Sedona and wanted to add sea foam to the crank case, but I need to change it sooner than later and won’t get more than 50-100 miles before I need to do it(hahah I want to do it this weekend) so I decided not to get any. Also autozone doesn’t sell wix, so I had to go to their Irish cousin.

Any obviously cracked or split hoses? If one of the hoses to the charcoal canister is split like this the truck will make a kind of gurgling noise.

I've been running the Seafoam High Mile stuff in my crankcase since 74500mi, basically, just rolled over 500mi with it.

Hell, depending on how much mileage you plan to rack up going to Sedona, you may just want to apply before you head out.

I always like to apply that to a crankcase for a single (or few) longer trips like that anyway as opposed to leaving it in for a longer period of time with shorter driving intervals. Love the idea of it doing its thing in there but don't love the idea of solvents sitting against any seals for any length of time. *oil change in Sedona!

Seafoam isn't necessarily a "solvent" though. Just a highly refined petroleum product, similar to oil or your gasoline, not necessarily more of a solvent than they. It just so happens it does a fair (albeit mild) job of breaking down hydrocarbon structures, which is how it cleans and devarnishes parts of your engine more than oil or gas alone.
