Hey guys. Going to be moving from MD to GA in Nov. Noticed lots of national forest out there and in TN. Any suggestions for places for wheeling or camping? Thanks

Here are a few sites that I've found in my research to check out:

    Georgia Overland

    Iron Mountain Resort

    Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest (OHV)

Not sure how great/not great they are as I am still in waiting mode on my truck.:boink:

What part of GA are you moving to?

It’s just not a “trail” I would drive from surrounding counties to take. It’s not something that’s going to take you hours to drive. The couple water crossings are cool, but that’s about it. :notsure: you just get to the cemetery and turn around and go right back where you came from. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I live here and have driven it since I could drive. Just doesn’t seem like the type of trail to make a trip around.

yeah that’s fair. It really is just a road, but the water crossings are cool.

Did the same with my 2013 and it looks great! I used plasti-dip on badges, grill, and fender flares. Been looking good for 7 years!

Thanks for your response. It is in the city of Forsyth which appears to be a fair distance away.

For anyone interested, as of 2 days ago when I was on the phone with them, this place has a tomahawk shifter. Do what you wish with the information and post up if someone snags it.
    Location: https://www.mcdonoughautoparts.com/
    Pricing: $50.12
    Caveat: They won't ship.

Anyone doing trails in GA? Trails for beginners, that is...nothing that would require me having to install recovery hooks in strange places on a Gen 3 or buy different tires to enjoy some hills maybe in north GA.

I like Cohutta WMA. A large area to drive, basically forest service roads, some good camping and hiking too.

There's easily over 50 miles of driving

ScootARoot, where do you recommend entering the trail. Thanks for the maps. I'm thinking that long green line near Cohutta is the 50 mile route that you're talking about, but which one or where would you enter the trail to get a good run on it and not get lost if you lose GPS signal? Is Crandall a good spot to enter (Mill Creek Rd)?

That's the same spot we entered. Seems a bit odd, but that's just how the trail is accessed. There's a neat camp site down on the right by the creek there. Hickey Gap I believe. Seems neat, but there was no room when we drove by - got there late.

This is the route I used. There's decent service up there. Enough to not let you get lost. I would recommend a physical map though just in case. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1597754161?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
