This is inspirational thank you @Tundra-G ! I am also running my TRD OR tires with 286/65/20 TRD OR (heavy, load E). Great traction but have also noted changes you describe. The 20” TRD wheels are great and I love them, but the look isn’t quite just right, for me. It has a more “luxury truck” vibe rather than OR BA ;)

May I ask how you decided between R17 and R18 for your wheel diameter? What are pros and cons between them? Thanks! Excited for the arrival of your KING suspension; with your new wheels and lighter tires that’s going to be an unreal setup.

I just got this SR5 TRD off road premium yesterday. It has the TRD skid plate and TRD wheels already. I'm planning on getting the AFE tow hooks, a cat plate, running boards, and a tonneau cover. I was thinking about the MX4 but now after the recall I'm not sure.IMG_20230311_074456708.jpg

Form me, the wheel diameter was simple, 17s. I wanted 35” tires, but did not want the weight. At this stage there is only 1 tire that fits the profile, Goodyear Territory M/T 315/70R17. These are stock Bronco Sasquatch tires.

They may not be the best all terrain 35s out there, but they are on average 12-17 lbs lighter per tire than anything else out there.

I really do not need E-rated tires since I don’t haul weight or tow too much. The ride improvement is huge, really substantial going from E-rated Coopers to C-rated Goodyears.

I wish I could…. I will honor the cost of free USA shipping cost by sending a refund for the difference once you place your order. Canada shipping is $28 vs $8.

Have to get a pic on here but put my retractable hard aluminum tonneau cover with rack on. Looking to dechrome but still trying to figure out if I have to recalibrate if I remove and reinstall with the plug/play parts all over this truck.

as far as sensors are concerned, removal/reinstall of the same item shouldnt affect operation of the item. only if you adjust modify the suspension height do you have an issue.

only device i think may have an issue with removal/install is the camera on the top windshield regardless of suspension adjustment.

    Thanks Nodak67
I have seen multiple videos on how to remove Mustache and rear bumper tailgate handle and have asked and all have said because plug and play should not need recalibration not changing the specs just removing the part so I can change color and replace exact same part.

I put four of these d-ring tie downs on the back four mounting bolts for the bed. With the wider frame size on the gen 3 these are far enough apart to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood. It is about 49" to the outside of the d-rings. I use a piece of 2x4 that is 4' to protect the plywood and give downward pressure. I was planning on doing the two front bolts. However, I realized that for some reason they put these two in closer by one of the groves of the bed. So these will not clear a sheet of plywood. It is unfortunate because these two would have been a good strapping point if you use a bed extender and a long 12' board. If you buy the d-ring with the 1/2" hole you do not need to drill them out. Below is the link to the d-rings that I bought.

This looks like a great idea @Dirtdog. I wonder how high they are above the truck bed floor?

They vary slightly depending on where it hits the composit bed. The hieghest one is about 1" above the seating hieght on the bed some are as low as 3/4". There is about 49" from the pivot point on each of the flange mounts which sit below the seating hieght of the bed. So you should had at least 49" wide of clearance in between the rings. It is unfortunate that the bed was not made more like the Tacoma where they can sit down flat below the raised seating height of the bed. If they had just made the recessed diameter an addition inch or so wider the d-ring would have been sitting down flat below the seating hieght of the bed and they wouldn't have had any interferance at all.

Good info, thanks. Do you think a smaller D ring would then be below the top of the ribs in the bed? That would then not interfere with other objects like maybe boxes etc that can sit over them.

update: looking at the close up picture again it seems that the D ring might fold down over the bolt and stay below the top of the ribs in the bed. Is this correct? That would be awesome to be folded down out of the way entirely :)

They do flip down and the entire ring is below the seating height of the bed. Unfortunately for the tie downs that I have the rolled over metal is above the seating height of the bed by about 1/8". It is possible that smaller tie downs may clear. Some of the Tacoma owners have used smaller tie downs and drilled them out to 1/2". You could buy some smaller ones on Amazon that are returnable and take a look at it. If you do try one that is smaller I would look at one thing before drilling. Make sure the head of the bolt clears the rolled over sheet metal that holds the ring. As you can see from the pictures even the larger ones that I have it is pretty close.

Removing the washer would drop the tie down lower in the recess. However, one problem with doing this is that even with the washer below the tie down the back corners of the rolled over metal is touching the composite bed. It is not pushing down on it too hard but I certainly would not be able to remove the washer with the larger tie downs that I have. Also I think the washer is a good idea since it is sized to press down on the composite bed over it given area. So I don't think I would remove the washer.

If you try the smaller tie downs and they clear the seating height of the bed with the washer that would be great. I would like to do this to my two front tie downs.

Also, when you do this mod you will need a large socket ~1 1/8 or larger to tap the washer down past the captive ridge on the bolt. It is not a big deal just a few taps with the hammer and the captive ridge breaks away. There are some youtube videos showing this.

What are the best seat covers? My kids are just about out of booster seats. They're messy but not destructive. I just want a barrier for food and snacks. There are a lot of internet options. I could use a recommendation.

This maybe a dumb question, but what if you turned the D rings over? The rolled metal seems to be offset more to one side of the D ring than the other.

This is all very helpful Dirtdog. Appreciate the long explanation. I'll look into smaller ones that can lay below the top of the bed ribs. Thanks again.

Since the trays in the armrest (SR, SR5 and I think some Limiteds) are a bit useless; things fall out when the arm rest is opened; I ordered this lid for the rear tray.
It's not life changing but at least give me a place to put my wallet and don't lose it every time I open the center console.

i just use the door cup holder location. works great on my 14 4runner.

since i will never use the door cup holder for its intended use on the tundra anyway.

yeah we are desperately looking for a replacement for our 23. we had a leather cover on our 18 platinum center console for the dogs. we didnt mind losing the top tray functionality of the cover. this is what we had on our 2018, was a pita to get on since the fit wasnt exactly oem.

yea thats not bad. i just feel like the trays are kinda useless for me. would rather just have a bigger cushion and somewhat flat surface.

Not only is it useless my passengers keep putting their stuff there , keys etc.. The sliding around noise drives me crazy and I have to move it to the front by the QI Charger or into the empty cupholder. It's an open invitation to put stuff, wish it was just an arm rest with maybe the front sliding slot as I can close that for access inside if needed or to hold whatever is there when I open it and it wont fall.

Most the guys at work tend to use the Carhart covers on the service vehicles. Not super cheap, but the fit is great and function is awesome…!!
