Chain storage option

Howdy all,
I was looking for a way to neatly store a tow chain in my vehicle.. I wanted something affordable with a zipper and preferably padded to reduce the sound of the chain rattling.
I found this product to meet all my needs, and thought some of you may be looking for something similar..

Tbh, I didn't know ppl still used chains to tow.

 

Touché. I have always kept one in my truck bed storage. Admittedly, I don’t use it too much but it’s definitely handy when you do need it, and for more than just towing.

I also keep a tourniquet with my first aid kit in the truck.. maybe I’m just carrying around useless sh!t..

 

I have a machete in my truck. You're good.

 

We carry it, sure. But hopefully it is useless. In that it never gets used!

 

Chains when used correctly aren't any more dangerous than a rope. There's plenty I wouldn't do with a chain. But there's things I wouldn't do with a tow strap or kinetic either.

That’s cool too.. this little tool bag would probably hold it too. To each their own.

I just figured there were other guys and girls out there who like me also like to incessantly spend money on their truck and might need a new idea..

 

Do you have a tow strap to confirm if it'll also fit in that bag?

 

Nope. Tow straps aren’t dangerous enough for me.. Too light. Too quiet.

 

i use a old beat up towel to line the under seat storage on our 2016 tacoma and now the 2023 tundra to solve the issue of noise. also wrap the chain length in an old towel to cut down on the clanging of chains or items while driving.

 

I think this will sound snarky but you spent $31 for what is basically a $16 golf shoe storage bag? Ok. My tow chain gets used & I keep that entire muddy, greasy mess in an old dog food bag in my truck box.

 

cmon man don't piss in his pool, op thought he would share the idea, totally his choice. I don't use a chain but I don't think its a bad idea, to each their own.

 

Pay no attention to the greasers, you got style dude! Nice and neat and goes with the truck! Just jealous of class! I still use a chain too, but with my Kubota. I ain't pullin' nothing with my Capstone except my Kubota.

Doesn’t bother me at all! I wanted it. Got it. I’m happy.. even if everyone on the forum said it was silly, I’m pleased with the purchase.

They both have their "uses" when used CORRECTLY...

Freaking people need a heavy flow tampon.

You gonna pull a fallen tree across the pavement outta the way with your tow strap or whatever and destroy it? No. Your going to use a tow chain. I may have to order one of these to quiet my chain up too. Right now it’s in a feed bag. This is probably better.
