2008 Tundra 4.7 Litre, I have had it since 2015. Does this every once in a while, just will stall…. No sputtering, its like no gas, no spark, the engine just shuts down. Sometimes will happen on hwy for only 3-5 seconds other times i will have to pull over and wait for 5-10 minutes. Happens so seldom but lately more often. Asked several mechanics and they look at me like I got 3 heads. Has anyone heard of this?

LOL, I know the feeling, my SC would do this, and it can be from a variety of things, my swag would be fuel related, my problem was an ignitor, since its an old car, but some people was fuel regulator related, and most have bypassed it, by jumping wires. By any chance are you getting any codes? Otherwise we're all bound to start jabbing in the dark.

Perhaps I will buy a scanner and hook it up as soon as it happens, if it will pick it up

I would go ahead and look for the fuel pump ECU and check on its state, if its corroded, then you found your problem. Usually would be Alternator, battery and fuel pump, but you're getting power. You can buy a scanner, or have the local autozone or whatever auto parts store that offers a scanner for free99 and get it checked that way.

Vehicle has only 200k, and the trac Sys flashes as it stalls.

You may have to trace wires from the rear to the front of the truck. If there is damaged to either system, this may be the only way to find them.

This exact thing happened to my 07. Happened twice, just died while driving, traction light, 4lo flashed, check engine came on. Pulled over and started right back up both times. Took it to shop and they said it was the mass air flow sensor. $300 later and problem fixed.
