What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Those are pain in the ass to get last summer, I waited 3+ months. Mines fly off inside the blackhole dash every time I take off the radio and hvac panel.

 

one of mine is still back there. I hear no rattles and the Headunit is tight and functional. C'est la vie.

 

I purchased an OEM Bed Step from Ebay. My understanding is that AMP makes the OEM step so they are the same. Install from start to finish was 45 minutes. I suggest backing the truck onto a ramp so you have some room to work. I took the shortcut of cutting the existing bumper bracket to allow space for the step, instead of taking apart the bumper cap to put in a new bracket. Still a solid bumper and no extra time spent on disassembly. This approach changes nothing with the step. I use mine all the time.

Be careful when you order. There are two models that they make for the 2.5 gen.., the first one I ordered didn’t fit… I think I made a thread about it…

Nothing fancy, fixed some shit, did some 100k mile maintnenance, well, I did some and my new best friend (local repair shop) did the rest. It's so nice to find someone you can trust.

• Replaced intermediate steering shaft - fixed the dreaded stiff steering
• Replace front ADD - fixed the long engage and extremely long disengage times
• New oil and drain/fill plugs for F/R diffs,
  $24 Red Line 57904 (75W90) Synthetic Gear Oil - 1 Quart
  Red Line 57904 75W90 synthetic gear oil

Coming soon:

• New oil and drain/fill plugs for transfer case, Toyota 75W oil
• Parking brake adjustment or repair. I have very little functionality but apparently enough to pass inspection. Noticed it when replacing rear brakes/discs.
• Potentially replace head unit
• Install F/R camera switch harness (bought years ago and never installed) and probably a F cam. Might research DVRs as well. I'm seeing more and more close calls with really shitty/impatient/asshole drivers.
• Replace power steering cooling tube (the u-shaped one). This is at end stage - some bends are flaking but no fluid leakage yet. Just a matter of time.
• Replace headlights - I've done the oxidation repair kits and the results don't last that long. I grew up on the water (FL) and subjected my vehicles to salt and sun year-round and I never had this problem with vehicles until moving to the great NE. Acid rain perhaps? IYKYK - the NE is not famous for year-round sun ....

 

Has anyone here done the VLED LPX reverse light? I have it sitting in a box waiting to be installed. Thinking this weekend maybe the time it gets added.

 

Don't have that one but have the VLED LP reverse and VLED brake bar.

Yes I have it, I think it's great. Lots of light! Clean look, easy to install.

nevermind, I have just the reverse light. but it's worth it. I think having extra brakelights is worth it.

 

I just have the original reverse bar. I don't want it smiling at people when the brakes are applied lol. I would like to look at something for additional rear turn signals though.

 

Actually I want a heated wheel, this helps a little as cloth isn't as cold as leather. ymmv

 

Dealer did my rear brakes about 4 months ago, the parking break is junk. Next service mentioned it ...they said performed to spec. lmao, worthless

 

Console organizer and after market tow mirrors

 

I got the same console organizer. I still want power folding tow mirrors.

 

Mine are not power folding. Those were about 600.00 a set. Paid 300 for these.

I’ve had it installed on mine for a little over a month now. A little bit brighter than the old LP version, and the red lights add some more visibility to the rear.

 

Title showed up in the mail today. Saw and email from @daveeasa that my DIR harness is inbound. So around a halfway decent wrap up to an otherwise shit week!

Upgraded my interior with all black and 1794 wood trim. I really like the look. Next is a leather steering wheel cover. Any recommendations?
