Hello, warm hello (about 109) from South Placer area near the CA Capital. I tend to do things backwards.
My 1st Toyota was an 86 MR2. Best car I ever owned. And I wish I still had it. I got caught up in the ridiculous "gross polluter " debacle in the late 1990s. That car didn't put out any smoke and it could sit on the street for six months straight without being touched and it would fire up like it was just off the new car showroom floor. Yada yada...I go to smog it a few years later and they say I'm a gross polluter. Those were the days smog places could unplug the telephone line from ARB and the tester wouldn't hook it back up until they could pass you offline first. There Also were no such thing as a "Test Only" facility. Also, the cool techs would tell you to put in a bottle of high octane and other "stuff" and recommend that you go race it up and down the freeway until the car and catalytic converter were fire hot and then brinh it in to hook the machine back up. Well I guess I was the 1 person out of 40 million who didn't know the truck. I'm always the last to know....thus joining this forum:)
Fast forward after 6 tickets for no valid tags (I always paid the fees) but CA changed the law and it wasn't legal unless fees paid and clean smog title in hand
I ended up going to the courts and asking the judge if I gave the car away, would he have mercy on me and toss out all the tickets, fines, etc and he agreed. Cost to fix smog was $3500 alone, not oncluding all the court and legal costs. KBB was $1200 even with Ricaro black leather butterfly factory seats which were $3500 ea to replace.
Ended up in FL for a while then came back. Now own a Toyota 86 which reminds me of my MR2 but just isn't the same. Fun car to drive but it's a race car for around town. It's a driver's car.
Now I'm obsessed with the Tundra, since it was called the T1000 back yonder i believe. I love the Cement TRD Pro but won't pay $5-$6k more for Cement paint. So settling for a Crewmax Limited with some superficial TRD parts is my thing right now.
Upon hearing from a fellow Tundra enthusiast that the Pro Grilles are on VIN lock down (for now) my Tundra project may also be on hold. I somehow managed to get a grille from a local dealer just today who's customer never picked it up, but I'm still missing the 2nd piece of the grille puzzle. Once i have it all on hand I'll resume the hunt for the truck. See what I mean....doing it backwards :)

There's a great thread on this forum for most of the TRD parts that can be bought for your Tundra, and Tacos. If you need the link or can't locate It, I'll try and get it for you.
This has been a steep learning curve and I've already made a mistake but I hope to learn from others on this forum who can pass along some good advice to cut down on both time and money spent. Many guys would rather learn themselves and make mistakes. I'd rather learn from others and take advice and keep money in my pocket for new toys.

I look forward to making some new friends, share truck stories and find new tricks and tips. I'm always willing to learn.

    Thanks for reading.

Well I didn't know I needed the Hood "scoop" or "buldge" other 40 other names Toyota has it lasted as...i thought it all came as one piece. The rest of the smaller stuff is either under the hood or in the cab and that I can get later. My own preferences are to keep the Tundra pretty stock, I'm not into massive changes....but...I'm going to get the MagnaFlow cat back exhaust and supercharger once I take delivery of the truck.
Do you have any suggestions of preferences yourself?

Having had a SC on this truck, you will burn through any stock tires. Hell, even 35" muds. :burnrubber:
