Is he going to get it custom tuned then with the maggy box since the provided Whipple tune will be for the stock intake? I’d love to see a side by side comparison of the magnuson and the Whipple on the same truck, same dyno, same tuner. Not to be a downer and I hope I’m wrong for his sake, but my honest prediction is the results will be disappointing unless he really drops the pulley size on the Whipple. Very interested to find out!

Good luck with that. It's a lot of tax dollars for a company to try to avoid. Probably gonna have to go second hand to avoid any

In regards to tax, could try Prospeed. I got my Harrop through them and it was 7,200 + $200 for shipping came out to 7400 even.

Companies that do under a certain threshold in a state don't HAVE to charge tax, Serra Toyota for example does not charge tax to Az.

it also depends on where you live as a lot of those online sales laws have changed the last few years. ROCKauto won't even deliver or sell anything to me in Aurora, CO because of our sales tax laws

Same with a lot of out of state Toyota dealers when I checked for higher dollar items recently

Custom tuned using the same tuner who did mine . Yea keeping the maggy box. It’ll make more under the curve I think. And yea easily pulley it down . The goals more efficiency less heat since the trailer on order is on the heavier side . Gales videos prove that over the roots

True, but his video compares the old and inefficient 10-71 roots blower to a more modern Whipple design. The old Roots 10-71 is surely vastly inferior to the modern TVS design. The Whipple may outperform the TVS1900, but definitely not the TVS2650 which is an updated more efficient design than the 1900 and 2300. Liter for liter I’ve seen better performance out of TVS blowers than twin screw in my time researching. They aren’t your Grandfathers Roots anymore. I’m sure the IATs will be better on the Whipple vs the 1900 though if that’s the main concern, mainly cause it will be spinning slower generating less heat and has a larger intercooler system. My guess is the Whipple will have higher peak HP at redline but less torque throughout the range. Guess we will have to wait and find out.

Yea very curious to see how it compares. I'm with Silver, I think it'll be a marginal improvement if any. Similar to how the Harrop is vs the Magnuson.

Any links to this/key words to search? I found nothing searching larger magnuson.

Also, this came today to help lower the gas tank.

Find a retailer in Montana? I THINK they don't charge sales tax for online orders.
I remember @memario1214 saying that for his company.

Someone on here said try prospeed so I went to the site and saw that they had only the competition kit for my 18 and added it to the cart just to see the price and they were not charging for tax only shipping so called for a quote on full kit they will get back to me when they find out. xat racing was asking for a tax id # which i dont have. im fairly certain prospeed is going to hook it up. as far as install sent the pdf i linked to one of the toyota dealers they are checking to see how much they will charge for install. they think it will be great promotion they put in the first whipple and people in the so cal area can go to them.

quick update i spoke with cabe toyota and they quoted me a ridiculous 3400$ for labor only. i did not mention for a whipple i guess they were assuming the magnuson would be installed because they quoted 10,800 with parts and labor. i asked what happened a lot of guys here got the install for 900. he said that was 2 years ago and they were underbidding themselves. as far as dealerships go the cheapest i found so far was toyota of salinas they quoted 1850 for install i did not mention which supercharger either. i did speak with ltw motorsports in riverside and he quoted me 1600 for install didnt matter which sc was installed he said they are all about the same nice guy. toyota oxnard said 28.5 hours for install which is insane. there was another shop in bellflower i wont mention that really didnt want to do it as they work only on "american cars" guy was very rude and told me 1600.

Just fly @snivilous out to install it. :rofl:Just make sure you have all the parts first, sounds like they’re still occasionally messing up the kits as far as missing/incorrect parts.
