Did an oil change on my wife’s 2020 Sequoia Pro with only 20,000 miles. This is the third one I’ve done. First was at 4,000 miles. Second was at 11,000 miles and then today. Always use full synthetic. When dumping the oil catch pan into my 5qt containers tor recycling I found these two metal chunks in the bottom of the pan. Never had any issues with the motor and don't tow ever. The next change I plan to send a sample to blackstone. Should I be concerned?

It’s concerning to me. I don’t normally find metal pieces that big in my oil changes. The semi-circular shape is worrisome as well. Didn’t cross thread the drain bolt did you? Small enough to be bolt threads or pan thread shavings.

No cross threading on my end and I’ve been doing my own oil since my 2013 Tundra. I have never seen this either. Drain plug looked perfect and I always torque to factory spec. Never had a leak either. It’s still under warranty so I’ll get in touch with Toyota for their take.

One could maybe use a bore scope to take a look at the threads inside the pan. Not sure that it would tell a story but maybe. You could also look at the crank and such a little bit while in there. They aren't terribly pricey nowadays.
