Hey guys, I’m looking to delete the tpms light on my dash I’ve replaced sensors a few times even with factory Toyota ones and I’m just sick of dealing with it. Is there any way to permanently delete the tpms, or take the light out in the cluster. Thanks.

On the older trucks you can just cut 1 wire to the cluster. Not sure if newer ones can do that and not upset the computers.

The tpms is pretty disconnected from the rest of the car systems though. Doesn’t use can on most Toyotas. It’s just kinda it’s own thing

Does anyone think this would mess with the remote start if I did this mod? I have the tech 12 V from James Randy Taylor.

When I purchased my 2017 it had the basic steel wheels.
I was able to grab some aluminum stock wheels off a 2021 and needless to say the sensors are not compatible, nor was I willing to swap them out & re-balance everything.
I made a small PVC pipe chamber with a valve on one side. Sealed it up, inflated to 35psi and put it in the truck somewhere.
Cheapest solution I could find after researching with $20 in parts from home depot.

    Too many mods to come
No sensors here and did the tpms wiring trick. I recommend avoiding the wire taps and using actual wire connections etc. Works no issues on mine.

I’m on like my second set of Wisconsin winters are not easy on them for some reason so I just bypassed it and it worked like a fucking champ lol super happy about this mod

So I just got back from my second trip to Discount where they replaced the aftermarket sensors with Toyota OE sensors and still could not get them programmed.

So now I have the annoying light.

I saw in the TPMS delete thread that sometimes it causes issues. Has there been any other developments on this since?

I’ve had mine deleted for awhile now and no issues and my remote start works just fine. Best thing ever no more light, if need be you can reconnect the wires if you leave them long enough.

I just did the delete and voila! No more TPMS light. I will probably have to make a better connection (it was cold and my tool selection wasn't the greatest) but it is off for now.

What happens if it becomes disconnected if my electrical tape job comes apart before I get a posi-tap? I am guessing the light just comes back on?

I didn’t use positaps I don’t love their connection. So wired mine using standard methods for a solid connection

Since I had already stripped by yellow wire the posi-tap made a great connection first time around and is much more secure. It at least looks more secure to me :)
