Thank you for showing me exactly what my truck will look like! :D

Did you do the recommended UCA's or stay with OEM?

It is more that the previous owner smoked in my truck and while I could rip out and replace the seats and seat belts, pull out and wash the carpets in a big clothes washer, and possibly replace the headliner, all of those are honestly not that bad at all, but the hvac box seems to perpetually be an old-cigarette-smell-pump, even with a new cabin air filter. pulling the box and vents and doing the parts-washer trick like you did for the vents is probably my best bet, and once i get there i might as well add dual zone to the hvac box :)

You might want to consider renting an ozone generator and run that in there for a bit. I had a truck that I really wanted but it smelled like an ashtray and knew that the Ministry of Finance wouldn't bless it smelling that way. A detail shop ran that ozone generator in there for 12 hours or so and the odor was gone.

I've got an ozone generator, and ran it in there with the truck running and the heat on for about 4 hours (helloooo idle fuel consumption...) and yes it helped a huge amount, but even just a week later, the heat smells again...

I'll run it again before my florida trip though. maybe i'll hook up a charger and run it overnight in the garage

that won't do anything for the smoke smell in the vents, the truck closes all those up when it's off

What about cycling between the windshield, face, and floor vents, cycling hot and cold, and using recirculate?

That is probably best with the ozone generator running, just have to do that without breathing the ozone as it damages lungs :)

I agree! I'm from the Vancouver area. The warmer climate and prolific drugs have led to tent cities hidden all around and an entire community besieged! They don't hold any of them accountable as they are thought to be victims of their chosen addiction. Many hardened criminals from across the country hide amongst them. Maybe if you shoot someone between the eyes with witnesses you could be kept in jail for a bit.

Not a bad idea to run it for a longer period of time. Also, look into renting a "commercial" unit to use. After my experience with de-odorizing the truck we had a camper that was repo'd and the deadbeat left the fridge and freezer full of food in the Texas summer heat. After having all the maggots and decomp goop out I ran an ozone generator for a couple days and it helped a lot. If I recall correctly I rented the commercial unit for something like $28 a day.

Made a shifter knob from an elk leg bone. It had the perfect grip already built in.

Finally finished installing my Rago dash mount. I made a bottom baseplate out of aluminum for pretty cheap. Grabbed power for the USB from the cigarette lighter adapter using Posi-taps.

    Alot of them
I'll be installing mine tomorrow. I have 2 ICS ball mounts, but the arms that I ordered are on backorder. Someone on here tipped me on to the Tackforms. They look nice and are cheaper than ICS. You just have to make sure you get the right size arms for the ball mounts that you use. I also got extra screws from Lowes to fill in all of the holes. A couple of them may be really close to the dash. I'll identify them tomorrow.

Upgraded my truck comms. Added an Icom IC-2730a and very happy with this setup.

Hooked it up to my SP9100, which worked out better than expected to control the power. I don’t really like the faceplate button, so using the SP controller takes care of that part.
