It'll work just fine they make a drop hitch. Good looking boat.

Yea. I purchased an 8" drop hitch. The 180 brand, just haven't had to tow anywhere yet. The boat is probably 9000 wet. I only towed it the one time dry and it was satisfactory. Definitely needed to give a lot of stopping distance.

Thanks! It works perfect for the family. Dry and stable. so much better than my 16' pro deep v.

Just wish I had kept the electronics.

Yea, that Cobia has a nice design. Sharp angle deep V with a slight bow flare. That along with the weight makes it perfect to plow through chop.

When I got my boat, I thought I'd be okay foregoing the bimini or T-Top. However, after owning it for a little while, I decided it was time for some shade. Put a bimini on today. I was worried when shopping for one because I wasn't sure if it would hinder my ability to access my rear live well when it is down. It fits nicely though. Can't wait to get on the water and test it out.

This thread is awesome. Hoping to buy an older MasterCraft competition ski boat in the next year or two. Will keep watching prices. There are several models of vehicles I’m watching on CarGurus, and they’re all coming down a few to several thousand dollars. Still not anywhere near a good deal. Hoping the boat market follows suit. For now, just watching and saving money. I love how Boat Trader shows me what my monthly cost would be with a 20-year loan. Lololol.

I was complementing a North River on social media a few years ago (next boat I want), remarked how I couldn't afford one.

The owners answer was - of course you can! They do 30 year loans.

Thanks but no thanks - although I've yet to see a 30 year old 20ft jet sled or Alaskan style boat for under 25k..

I read about a 57 foot Chris-Craft for sale for $12,000 because the bilge pump failed when a storm came up back around 2018. It was in it's marina slip, but 30' underwater. Somebody said you fill it with lots of ping pong balls to refloat it and refit it. Wouldn't a boat like that be complete toast?

Yes! I work in the marine industry. Once a boat is submerged, it’s done! There have been people that have taken projects on such as this but there will always be lingering issues.

If it sank in salt water I wouldn't want to take it on. Fresh water, maybe. But! Definitely not a boat that big. You'd be into it more $$$$ wise than it would be worth by the time you got it done.

...it was a freshwater lake in Texas after one of those big storms, a fiberglass boat from about 1971.

Bought my first boat this weekend. Grew up with small aluminum boats, but always loved going on pontoons. Found this 12 ft pontoon to start with maybe it will be a little bit of both.

    Well I had a 2021 tundra with a 2012 16’ Lund.

That turned into a 2017 tundra and a 1989 19.5’ Sea Nymph Great Lakes Special that my father and I fully restored and I repowered with a 2023 115hp Mercury
