Well it’s all done. Definitely pysched myself out on this install more than I should have. Unboxing it was a little intimidating but thanks to all the posts on this thread and responses to my questions it got done. I took some videos so hopefully I can edit it and post it one here for future use.

Just got this kit and some aftermarket power-folding mirrors. Got the mirrors installed, got the harness wired in (Installed switch, plugged harness to switch, plugged mirror harnesses to the main harness after fishing through the doors, crimped the connectors and installed in pins 7/8, and plugged the inline fuse into the dome light slot). Notably, I did not add the little door lock harness as that functionality didn't seem worth the effort to fish and crimp more wires. After installing everything, I am having no luck with the power folding function. The mirror adjust switch works fine, just not the power fold button. I tried swapping out the fuses without any change (Notably, the dome lights are working fine). Swapped the connectors around to the different pin holes (tried reversing the green and blue wires in pins 7/8) with no change. Any ideas for further troubleshooting? Can't figure out what I may be missing. Hoping the module isn't just a dud.

Pretty much tried all that I would have tried. Maybe try checking the green and blue wires again and making sure their pushed all the way in. My passenger side works 98% of the time but sometimes doesn’t unfold when I lock it I’m pretty sure it’s because I mangled the pin pretty good. I couldn’t quite get it to seat all the way. I hope you figure it out soon and it’s something simple.

This kit is garbage as is the seller. I installed it and it did not work. I spent weeks trying to get a hold of the seller with no response to text, email or phone. I would just burn your money rather than buy this kit.

I re wired all of it with a new switch and just went from the switch to the mirrors and has been working flawlessly since..... Just threw the entire kit in the garbage a week ago.....

    Buy at your own risk.....

I agree with you on the customer service part. Sent multiple emails and made several phone calls. No answer to calls and I received one reply basically telling me they would get back to me about actual instructions as the only instructions is the link to this thread on a piece of paper in the box.

I have lucked out so far on my particular kit as it works almost flawlessly. I owe it all to the guidance from those who installed this before me in this thread and other threads. Only issue is the passenger side mirror not always folding/unfolding. Pretty sure that was my fault though since I massacred one of the pins when I tried to crimp it.

Since it sounds like there has not been any consistency in the quality of this product I definitely see my case as the exception and lucked out.

Think I’m just gonna have to get it wired manually. Might see if a shop can do it. Tried a couple other things today. Found there was a blown fuse, but replacing it didn’t change the outcome. I did try swapping out the whole fuse connector as well to see if that made any difference, but again, no change. Think the kit is just a dud. I also had a hard time crimping those tiny little pin connectors, so those may just be jacked also. I’ve lost patience with troubleshooting this thing. Electrical work is certainly not my strong suit.

I felt the same way when it came to doing some electrical work. I ended up getting some better crimpers off of Amazon after the first attempt at crimping a pin with just regular pliers and needle nose was a complete failure. So much easier. Right tool for the right job. Sorry it’s not working for you. Which folding mirrors did you get?

Check to see if you've got two sources of power running to the switch and/or make sure you aren't crossing polarities.

I bought this kit last year when I got my ‘21. I needed to be able to fold the mirrors to get in and out of the garage. It didn’t have power folding mirrors so I bought oem platinum mirrors with color matched caps ( came with chrome ). Works like it should. Works with key fob lock and unlock ( when parked easy to tell if I remembered to arm my truck ) and then manually with the button on the switch. Sorry you are having trouble.

Can I order a harness for my Platinum and have the auto fold added with a way to turn it on/off and leave all the factory functions alone? I asked her about the 2.5’s and she told me I have a 3 Gen. Makes me cautious to buy from someone that does not know the different generations correctly

I wouldn't be concerned about the gen naming, lots of people see a 2.5 as a 3. Even me at times. I mean hey, the body changed in several areas, several interior changes as well. So, it's best just to go by the year and call it good. There are always complex ways to design circuits with added switch functions to do about anything. Kinda like plumbing, you can add as many different valves and bypass lines as you need to meet the end goal. Design the circuit that will work for you.

I guess the answer is no, I cannot buy a harness to do that

If you have enough money, chances are good that you can buy nearly anything as far as goods go. Ask for a custom order and get a quote. I mean jeez, if you want to PayPal me $10k, I'll get started on it tomorrow and ship it priority too. We live in a world where money talks.
