2001 extra cab interior light question

Is there any way to have the dome light come on when the doors are unlocked, like the cargo light does before opening the doors?

My dome light comes on when I unlock the doors on my 01. Thought this was standard operation on the RS3000

 

I do know for sure the FSM shows the TVIP security system is linked to the dome light, per the below.

I know mine comes on with RS3200. There's no way to program it in or out, actually. I just don't care to dig thru the RS3000 manual and see if it's possible to turn on/off.

 

mine turns on the dome lights. but only if the dome lights are set to DOOR.

 

This would be hilarious if it wasn't coming on b/c @Les had his 3-way toggle for the courtesy lights set to OFF instead of DOOR. IIRC, all 2000-2006 let you toggle between ON-DOOR-OFF, either at the dome light itself, or at a rocker where the map lights are? (or maybe both, IDR).

I didn't even think about TVIP not letting the dome come on if the dome is set to OFF. If the circuit is interrupted, makes sense TVIP couldn't control it.

 

It has an AM remote installed. I will look into the remote CTRL. connections now that I know the the OE remote will activate the dome light when unlocked, I just didn't know if is was possible or not. I am just learning about these trucks. Thanks for the help!
