I want to ask experts and enthusiasts about a Tundra I found. It’s a 2019 TRD Pro but it has 127,000 miles on it already. It’s an excellent price and it’s only 50 miles from me. But the question is is that too hard of use for the year? I put 36,000 miles per year on my first Prius for 3 1/2 years and then down to only 27,000 miles lol so I know that Toyotas can take a lot.
I recently decided to move to some property and bring my horses with me instead of boarding. But this means I need to be able to tow a large three horse side load gooseneck trailer. I’m having trouble finding an affordable tundra with an actual full tow package, including the trailer brake.

The miles wouldn’t concern me a bit, especially if well cared for. What you should know about that truck is that Toyota eliminated the transmission cooler from the tow package in 2019. Im guessing a 3 horse trailer loaded with 3 horses is well over 7k lbs. In my opinion, if you’ll be towing with that set-up often, you should put an aftermarket transmission cooler in. There’s a vendor on this forum that sells a couple different kits that are awesome. I added one to my 2019 Pro a couple years ago and it’s been awesome.

Welcome from NY. The mileage is fine. Like said above you may want to add a transmission cooler.
The only thing that concerns me is the 5th wheel hitch.

These trucks are tough and can take being rode hard and put up wet. But I would pass on that 2019 given your intended use, unless you are comfortable modding it with an aftermarket cooler as @Squeaky suggested. Removing the external cooler from the tow package-equipped trucks was a very controversial move on Toyota’s part that has sparked many long threads on this forum. Adding a cooler to my 2021 was one of the first mods I did, sourcing the OEM parts (thermostat, rubber and hard lines) and buying the larger aftermarket cooler from @Genuine Cooling Systems . Here is the kit for the 2019-2021s. He stocks full kits with OEM parts as well now. They are not hard to install if you follow all the instructions. @2020Platinum made a fantastic YouTube video to follow.

Thanks for the help. I’ll probably be looking at this one this weekend. I don’t mind an aftermarket modification. Everybody here in Texas does addition to trucks.

Yesterday I saw a super clean 2016 Red crewmax with topper and bed rug about 65k on the clock. $35000 in Choctaw OK on Facebook marketplace. Take a look!

BTW, welcome to the forum! FYI check out the Roadmaster active suspension HD kit for what you want to do with towing. Really simple and a good start to a major improvement. Trust me, I load my truck!

You don’t want a PRO for towing a goose neck. The PRO’s suspension is very soft on purpose, for off-road ride… that makes it a crap contender for towing things.

I just purchased a 2015 TRD PRO inferno orange with 103k miles. I purchased it for $27k.
Previous owner had all service records and has airbags for towing.
I’m not sure if I paid too much or got a good deal. Still nervous about the purchase.

I think you did just fine. I traded my 15 Inferno TRD Pro (extended cab, not crewmax) with 60k miles in on a 19 TRD Pro last week and they gave me $33k on trade. Had the local Toyota dealer offer me $33k cash as well but with the reduction in tax liability going the trade route it saved me about 2k. I suspect they will put it on the lot at around $38k and go from there.

Thanks guys! For now, I’m going to enjoy it for now and not do any modifications as I feel it does not need any. The interior space is very spacious compared to the 5th gen 4Runner.

I used a B&W below the bed goose neck and a prodigy 3 brake control with the Toyota harness it does require a different adapter if a fifth wheel hitch is used. I pull a 9100# fifth wheel. Low gas mileage but plenty of power 5.7 381hp. Hope the helps my hitch was installed by me.
