Tweeters in Sails

So with the HU upgrade, I'm missin the highs from the tweeters in the sail panels. My Tundra has them so everytime I get in the Sequoia, it's just not "high" enough for me lol

I'm looking at the Alpine tweeter/crossover combo on Crutchfield. Noticed there is a harness you can get for the Tundras that'll PnP the door speakers to the crossovers but unfortunately they don't make them for the Sequoia.

I know it'll just be a normal wire splice situation but, just in case, is there anything else I should know before I tear into it? Anyone do this to their 2nd gen Sequoia?

 

Sooooo I had an epiphany.

What if I took the current dash tweeters out, extended the wiring through to the sail panels and hooked up the new tweeters that way?

Would it sound good or should I still move forward with the more labor intensive option of using crossovers?

 

Should be this same harness adapter - right?

I’m running JL C1 components with the tweeter in the sail panel and have no complaints. They come with an inline preset crossover that is so small it doesn’t need to be mounted - I zip tied mine.

 

Ha...at least you spending money on audio stuff isn't my fault this time lol.
