Is this just for trucks that already have a qi charger or will it work with trucks that don’t currently have one from the factory also?

I have the same question. I would like to add qi charger to my ‘22 SR5 which does not have the factory charger.

 

I'm interested, but don't use Apple products.

I have found the factory charger is very case specific. When I got my 22, the charger worked phenomenally well. It always stayed connected and charged at a reasonable rate for wireless. A few months after getting the truck, I upgraded my phone and changed case style and now the charger is completely useless; my phone won't stay connected for 10 seconds straight.

 

Interested too if its applicable to 2.5 gen as well. 19 PRO

Very interested as well for Android Pixel 7. Had a Pixel 6 and with or without a slim case, didn't work. Upgraded to Pixel 7, same issue. My son's older Pixel seems to work ok. Thinking it may be due to the newer Pixels having the protruding camera on the back preventing it from sitting flush on the charger so hopefully a stronger charger resolves it. Please keep that in mind on your redesign. Thanks!!!

To clarify, however,

The first iteration is aimed at Apple iPhone users in the 3rd gen Tundras with the qi option already installed. After that, we can easily make a second version for android/other phone users (which can use generic chargers).

We are also working on a solution for the non-qi equipped vehicles but that is a little more difficult as the thickness of the panel plastic is a major reason why the wireless charging is ineffective. Once we figure that out, then adding secondary chargers for the right side wouldn’t be that much of a problem either.

Again, thanks for the positive comments. We are working as fast as we can. Quality and form are both high priorities for us.

 

interested...with a question...will you be printing that entire piece shown in the first photo or just the area highlighted where the phone sits?

 

Maybe for those of us without the factory qi charger we can just get the console insert with the cutout from Toyota and use OP’s solution. I think the part number is
588020C030C1 but need to verify.

Interested! 22 Pro looking for a mag safe option to replace the QI

I've had better luck on my Pixel 7 by putting little black sticky rubber bumpers (essentially these https://amzn.to/3STKl3I), like that would go on a kitchen cabinet door, as feet on something that sits on a table, or on the back of a picture frame to BOTH the lip of the platform under the Qi charger, and the left side of the Qi charger (2 in each spot). The ones on the bottom lift the phone 4-5mm and the ones on the left prevent it from sliding to the left while driving.

For me, it seems like an alignment issue, and lifting the phone slightly as well as preventing it from sliding to the left when I go around a corner quickly, seem to help charging a LOT. I do not use a case on my phone.

My plan is to eventually 3D print a part that would do this by lifting the phone and has a little tab (like is already on the right side of the Qi charger) on the left side to prevent the phone from sliding around. I'd probably need to print a new one every time I got a new phone though.
