    Have any of you noticed your preference changing? I guess I should be more specific; I'm talking about vehicles and colors for said vehicles.

    Back when I was buying my first brand new car I had a list of deal breakers and must haves for it
    • No white or silver, those are granny car colors
    • no sunroof
    • no leather
    • must be automatic
    • no column shift
    • must be 6 cylinders or more
    • must be 4 door
    Granted, I was young and thought a family might wind up being in the mix, so I bought a responsible family sedan when I really wanted a sporty car. Little over a decade later I bought a a silver, stick shift, 4 cylinder, with leather and a sunroof... I hated orange for cars forever, and now I'm drooling over Solar Octane and even liking the Inferno Orange trucks that I didn't really care for just a couple years ago.


    So, am I just indecisive or is this evolving taste a normal thing?

    I think it's pretty normal for tastes to evolve. I haven't noticed it for myself for vehicles yet, moreso my needs changing. I still like driving my car as much as I did when I bought it ten and a half years ago (and still hate driving the wife's Corolla as much as I did when we got together 7 years ago) but I wouldn't be able to get by without my truck these days.

    33: eff bright colors. I want black.
    36: black is too tough to keep clean. Gimme gray.
    52: gray is blah/meh/gloomy. Gimme iridescent brown.
    In order, though, they were Honda, Toyota, Toyota, and Toyota. I can't let go of the 'dependable' thing.
    Honestly, whatever's next will probably be gray or black. But I'm keeping the shiny turd till I die.

    Yeah, reliability is huge for me, so I buy new. Crap luck used. I won't do black again. Had a car and a truck that were black, and I am not dedicated enough to not have it look like poo all the time. I hate brown on vehicles. :sorry: Tan is meh at best. I'm with you on the greys like MGM. Cement was awesome, Smoke Show and Battleship Grey from Mopar were also good. I think silver is probably one of my favorites, though. More depth than just white, but still has the scratch hiding and clean when dirty perks.

    Cavalry Blue caught me because of how much it changes in the light, and that opened my mind to more than just silver. I liked how much it popped and turned heads. First color I ever had that had people just going gaga over it. I know it's shallow, but made me feel good to know the color was appreciated by more than just myself.

    Is it racist if it's true? :boink:

    Oh, reliability was paramount for me. Only have 1 vehicle, so that's why I'm in a Toyota. Plus the CrewMax is the best crew cab there is, and I was pursuing a family type situation that would have used it along with towing a camper. None of that happened, so now the full size capability and the CrewMax have been kinda wasted. Time to pursue the truck I actually wanted and have some fun!

    The color-changing aspect is what I like about MGM, funny enough. Depending on lighting and angle, it can be a very dynamic color. There are A LOT of MGM Toyotas out there though...
