Ah! That was the other reason I wanted to not concrete it. I don’t know what grade I would need but it would be a lot of work :/

I thought since it doesn’t get much sun there I would just do basalt and a water feature or something.

Ok so after talking with the concrete guys I’m gonna do an underground downspout so it’s off to the store! This is my planned route. Should give me enough slope.

On another front, the basement is ready for paint. I finished wiring up all the outlets/light switches as well as having to throw a couple tandem circuit breakers in my box. C2276D31-08CB-46F3-9689-9E3CD5793B1F.jpg

    A few things of note:
1 - electrical hurts my hands
2 - my gym room looks a lot smaller now :/
3 - I didn’t die at me circuit breaker box
4 - if you want to hide your fiber internet box on a shelf in a closet like I do and wire the fiber box in the closet make sure you ALSO wire an outlet for power…..oops

    Good stuff.
Curious....if that underground down spout at a point that'll drain away from the drive/house/foundation?
It's gonna be nice once done!

It has a pop up that will be in grass and then a 3ft hole beneath with pea gravel. Most of my research pointed to that. Hoping it’s enough

I get tired looking at all your work, lol…. One idea is also to bury a conduit for electrical for future driveway lighting or what ever, A $6 investment for possible future ideas.

Make sure to pack some heat tape down in the hole, or go down deeper so it doesn't freeze and back up.

Good idea but I’ve got another outlet I can use and they already prepped for the concrete path this morning. I am constantly exhausted and for some reason still wonder why  I’ve had the past 6 weeks off with the new baby but spent almost the last 3 doing house work.
Smart man, I’ll have to get some heat tape! I didn’t wanna go deeper cause then I would have to have it come back up in the yard pretty tall and thought that may not work well for draining purposes

I learned that one when we did our addition and garage. The spout off the back of the garage froze and filled until there was an ice rink and the bottom of my wood pile was frozen to the ground.

Landscaping crew is still working, somewhat part time as the neighbor is having some dirt moved and a Great Wall made(photos later?). The solar panel work started today, people on the roof and the garage. I took a few in progress photos today of the electrical panels guts. They are supposed to be done with solar installation tomorrow night.

cleaned out the corner of the garage.

    7AB7044A-17D4-4B38-A903-E3185F72690D.jpg

also a battery back up for part of the house.
    8B2BF061-9CE9-4B7C-820E-B1D35A3EC132.jpg

Mounts for the solar panels getting in place. Landscaping in back.

With all this we just got back from a New England colors tour last night. My wife is not feeling good and tested positive for Covid. I tested negative, but I think it’s inevitable I get it.

Don't know if you have any overhanging trees but you might put a guard on the top of the downspout to keep crap from getting in there and clogging it up.

    Something like these:

So I may be crazy but going for a little feature wall in the gym. Ceiling is basically white, 3 walls will be a ‘silver’ smooth stone color and then 1 wall will be ‘dragons blood’ (the color on the left which is more orange in real life) with a big black ‘nobody cares/work harder wall vinyl. Hoping it looks ok after all. F5438EB1-C294-482A-AE23-C33DF8AD9CFD.jpg
Also, does anyone else OCD over outlet cover screws and lining them up?!?!? Oh, just me? Ok then :anonymous:

    That garage looks awesome!
This might be a stupid question, but how do you align them, isn't tight tight? Or do you have to fiddle with how you start the threads? Hopefully they're not left somewhat tight just to align the heads?

Cleaned my garage in preparation for my new Ariens Deluxe 28 snow blower. I finally figured that at almost 70 it's time to put the shovel away and get into the modern age. We usually get about 100" of snow/year here.

except I line all mine up with the slot vertical

I actually considered custom painting hex head screws at one time to use so that it would matter less… but I would still line up all the hex heads

Vertical just looks better and is more streamlined (aka more correct). I thought there was something a little... off with people in north Idaho.:D
