2005 Tundra DC. Only 100K miles. Since ownership of 4 years, the truck always was a chore
to drive. It wandered on the road and easily darted around on bumpy pavement.
I did the usual checks looking for something loose or damaged. I could find nothing.
I was about to just live with it. I stumbled upon a U tube University video about sloppy steering. I watched it and it described perfectly what I was experiencing. I had the wife start up the truck while I was underneath. Sure enough, I visually could see that my steering rack bushings were shot. I ordered a set from Amazon. The brand was MOOG. All 3 bushings and I also bought new sway bar MOOG brand bar rubber bushings. The original factory bushings were not torn or showed signs of slop. They were very soft and easily squished.
For under 25 dollars I have a new feeling truck. What was a 2 fister drive experience, is now
controllable with 2 fingers. Check your today if you have steering slop.

Appreciate the share, and congrats! Just be careful with Moog, they're not the same company they were 10-20 years ago. They've had at least one serious recall on front suspension parts for our trucks.

Shit, I totally glossed over the parts being bought on scAmazon. Hopefully they're not knockoffs. I had to buy a replacement cap for my HVAC compressor a few weeks back and I can't source them locally. Sure enough, both counterfeit. Auto parts, appliance parts, it's all the same. That place is such a shithole these days.

I have seen knockoffs. These parts are from MOOG.

I've found mine get soft and mushy when the power steering fluid leaks on them. A new/steering rack would solve my issue.
