Just as the title suggests, has anyone successfully completed an anytime fog light mod in the 2021. The topic seems to be ripe with fairy tales and hypotheses about which wires need to be cut and which wires need 12V ignition, etc, but I’ve seen no one who’s actually done it. Hopefully it’s a simple and straightforward process!

I know you're asking about a '21 model, but I've done this to my '14 when I had it, there is a DIY MOD in Mods and Tutorials section on here

Would be nice. I had it done on a previous tundra. Would like to have it in my 20 also.

I just turn on my parking lights. I don't believe much changes besides the taillights coming on with the fog lights being lit up.

Fogs turn off when you put on your high beams.

Ahh I thought the goal was to be able to run fogs only.

Unless you change the fog lights or the light bulbs, the factory fog lights are useless anyways!
the fog lights are a joke in every car we have... You can see maybe 5 yards. Unless you are going 5mph and want to see 15 ft in front of you. They are like for decoration or Christmas lights.

There was a document here I think it is called Eddie's fog light fix or something like that. Does it work for 2021?

with Eddie's fix, you can have the fog lights on anytime as long as parking lights are on. You can turn the fog lights on with Low beam, high beam and parking lights only.

There is another fix where you have to bend a relay pin ... Not sure which one is scarier or easier! lol
I did the Eddy's fix (2016) and so far so good. I don't smell anything burning!

I have a Pro with the Rigid fogs. They’re not terrible for factory fogs. Though compared to the Rigid D-Series pro spotlights, it’s hard to believe they’re the same form factor. I’ve contemplated swapping out the OEM Rigid fogs with one of Rigid’s other D-Series Pro offerings.

On the topic of the anytime fog lights, I’m hesitant if any of the alterations for 2019 and older would work on the 2021. They made some electrical changes to the lighting. For example, I can’t run LED turn signals because the modification for the flasher resistor doesn’t apply. The factory flashers are digitally controlled, not through analog circuitry.

I’ll check into the mods you mentioned. Bending/removing a relay pin is easy enough to test out with some jumpers without having to permanently modify anything.

I don’t want them all the time, I want them on when my high beams are on since they light up more of the ditch…where the deer jump out from. Those that don’t understand that are not the sharpest tools in the shed.o_O

I did the write up on the relay mod. That’s your easiest way to get them on for the high beams

Hey you came in with assumptions and started calling people dull tools!… agree with you though. The look of fog lights on with just parking lights is stupid. I’ve been seeing people do it for years and I’ve never understood it. Fog lights with the high beams is what I’m after.

After reading through that, a few said it won’t work on the 2020-2021. However, post 216 looks to have a solution. I’ve reached out to the poster for more info. Seems like it maintains all factory functionality while allowing the fog lights to operate while the high beams are on.

I was kind of cracking a joke and then agreeing with you to smooth things over, but clearly you’re just a douche. Unless you have something constructive to add, get lost.

I think people should be allowed to run fog lights whenever they want. They're not blinding to oncoming traffic or pedestrians and they don't both anything. Except peoples opinions.

I could see fogs with high beams being beneficial. Even though they're short distance, they still illuminate the road and off to the sides.

I know this maybe a far alternative, I just wired my fogs to my aftermarket control panel, so they can be independently turned on.

An aftermarket switch panel may be another option for the anytime fog lights. Baja Designs just recently acquired sPOD 4x4. They make aftermarket switch control panels that eliminate the mess of all aux lighting cords running everything to a can-bus system under the hood of your vehicle and one cord into your vehicle to a control module. I will insert the link below for anyone interested in this product.

That’s cool, I’ve never even heard of that. If that could keep me from doing some sort of rigged together setup, I think it would be $150 well spent. I’ll try to digging into it to see if I can find some more info on it. Thanks for sharing that!

You're welcome. I found it awhile back and bookmarked it. I'm really interested to see if anyone has it and if they like it.

I actually have a switch pro 9100 but I didn’t want to cut apart the factory fog light wiring to make this work. It would be pretty easy to do though since the switch pro has the ability to turn outputs on and off via trigger wires and one of the trigger wires is already wired to the low beams to dim the control panel when they go on.
