Yesterday check engine light came on, A.I.P. code 2124. (I think) No Limp mode. I want to do the bypass. Question, If I clear the code for now can I avoid the limp mode? BTW my top speed on the Island is 45, but mostly it's 25-30 mph, so at least I can limp home if I have to. I known about the problem in the 07 before I bought it, I was prepared.............still love the truck. There was a humming noise coming from the intake..........I'm guessing it's the pump behind the intake causing the problem.

Self says to self, after further investigation it is code 2441. Exhaust port to the pump is stuck shut. This will not cause a limp mode. Good for me because dont have the time and energy to fix this asap. I will eventually fix this with 1 RELAY, 4 PIECES of WIRE, a DIODE and 4 CONNECTORS, and some BLACK TAPE. :pccoffee: Thank of very much.

Did your pumps make a high pitched noise?

Do you know the parts that make up the whole Secondary Air Injection System. Is there two pumps for the 5.7L?

When I went to the dealership the other day, the service advisor discouraged me from considering the bypass kit. Some how they believe that it would cause more harm than good. How is this so when the air pump that they replace could fail again at some point? Spending this type of $$$ on something that can fail again

@Thomas4x4 I do not blame you. The most expensive option is taking it to the Dealership and replacing with Factory/OEM Components. On average, most Dealerships will quote between $2,000 – $3,000 for parts and labor. Depending on your engine size, you may need to replace both Air Switching Valves and could involve removal of the intake. However, replacing the Air Switching Valve only partially addresses the Secondary Air Injection System and even worse may only be temporary. This option does not prevent the other Air Pumps or Valves from failing or even guarantee the new Air Switching Valve from failing again in the future.

We are more than happy to answer any question you may have about the Hewitt Technologies SAIS Bypass Kits. I have also included some additional resources for any one looking for more information about this issue.
