Hi, I have searched the forums for light bar and switch installations and I'm looking for advice.
I ordered a Diode Dynamics 30" for the bumper along with a twin DD 12" set for the grill.
I have a 2017 1794 Tundra with no room for a wired switch. Also, I have concerns about running through the firewall and cutting a spot for a switch. I would prefer a switch with a dimmable backlight as well as a lighted confirmation that the switch is on.
I would like to have the light bars be activated by the high beam switch and also switchable so as not to be on all the time the high beams are on.
I have looked at the Trigger 4 Plus, but after reading reviews regarding switch quality and battery life I'm a little spooked about spending over $400C on the unit.
I'm requesting recommendations for a good quality wireless switch for my installation.
    Thank you.

I don't have any experience with it. I just run everything to independent switches since I don't have but a few light bars per truck.

Most people I've seen use SPOD or switch pro's.

If you want true wireless in the cab you don’t have many options. Trigger is one and then something like Oracle would be another (or something similar to that) where you keep a remote in your center console and pull it out when you want to switch on/off your light bars. Running wires into the cab isn’t hard and with something like a switch pro it’s one wire and you’re done. SDHQ makes a nice plate that will replace your current 1794 plate so that the switch pro mounts up nicely. I’m sure you could wire the lights into your high beams but don’t have any answer for that and one of the switch pro gurus could answer that. It all comes down to cost/ease of install/functionality and finding the balance that works for you. Best of luck; and welcome!

I have a trigger 6 shooter and love it. been installed for probably a couple years now.

easy to install and plug and play.

I have mine wired directly to the battery, the other option is an ignition operated fuse. they say there is a constant draw but it has not killed anything and my truck sits for days at a time with starting.

to try and answer some of your questions. since it is an independant control system the factory lighting systems functions are not affected. so if you want the trigger system to turn off the light bar when the high beams are activated, im sure that it will take some crazy wiring harness that will tape between the light bar and the factory harness. not say impossible but defiantly a custom job and serious knowledge.

i would recommend the trigger system without hesitation, but your wants/needs are not what this system is about. also look into the 6 shooter, im not sure of the cost difference but the option for two additional lights proved a good option for me, you never want to wish you got the bigger one and reget buying the smaller. this goes for anything right?

It sounds like a SwitchPro would suit you well. Yes its one wire through the firewall. It has light indicator, dimmable, dimmable with headlights and also trigger options so the light bars activate when you hit your brights. I do not have mine wired up like that but it is an option. SDHQ mount plate is sweet.

Thanks for all your input. I might go with a Trigger 4 Plus. I'll have 2 light bars and maybe later add back up lights and bed lights.
I would still like to be able to trigger the light bars through the high beams. At this point however, I have not ruled out a SwitchPro.
