    Hello all,

I am based out of El Paso, TX and this is Fat Amy's build thread: 2020 MGM SR5 "TSS Off-road" :

The above photos are from May since I got t-boned just 5 days after those were taken. Truck probably saved me from injury actually, from what witnesses describe. Luckily no frame damage and everything's being repaired, but parts availability has resulted in the truck being down over at the body shop since mid-May unfortunately.

It doesn't look like all 3 of your projectors are lit on either headlight.

Thank you for linking these! I'll pick some up, definitely a lot of glare across the hood, although having the solar panel on there did help out with that a bit.

Likely due to the angle they were originally aimed at

I took those photos immediately after install.

Later that night, I discovered that they'd been shipped with the lights aimed excessively low. It was bad. Lol spent a long time that night aiming them properly.

Gotcha. My aim is pretty good on mine. They are off on the 4Runner though.

My wife's still debating Morimoto vs Alpharex for her 2020 4R.

I definitely want to eventually get the Magnuson SC, it's on the list.

Current performance additions include ECM and TCU tuning; it has served as the YotaWerx NA tune dev truck pretty much as soon as I got it.

TCU tuning.....mmmmm. I'm sure you recommend the tuning in conjunction with ECM tuning. What parameters are you adjusting? Are you increasing line pressures?

The 4R is also a 2020. It's Barcelona like my truck but we did the Amber. It was fun pulling the whole bumper for the install.

Yes, the tune combines ECM and TCU parameters together in VF.

For the current tunes, I focused on shift points, and for a long time that was primarily all that was available. At least in VFTuner, I don't know about other tuning software.

Line pressures and other TCU controls have very recently become available, but I'm waiting on moving forward with additional revision and development until I get my truck back from the body shop, and there's a few other tuning tools I'd like to see become available to use and include for a larger update.

Well this sounds very promising for the guys that add a bunch of HP (SC's etc) or bigger tires. I did a TCU tune on my Allison and it was night and day difference. With raising line pressure, it will raise the fluid temps. So this might be restricting to 2019-2021 Tundra trucks that don't have additional cooling. My transmission temps went up 20-30*F, but typically never get over 170*F even towing at GVWR.

I don't think those tables are even available in VF for the 2007-17 models anyway.

    Appreciate the insight, thank you!

It's not too bad. They have a video on HR's site. You really just need a 2nd person to hold 1 side while you unclip the other.

I usually just drink a beer while making the wife install all her stuff on her own truck. I suppose I could be bothered to help hold the bumper for a bit ;)

Only thing I've never loved about removing bumpers on any vehicle is they never seem to go quite perfectly back into place again

As best as I can tell and from what the shop has said, seems like repairs on the truck are going well.

I've been under the impression that total repair time should average 3-4 weeks, and it's been about two weeks now since they were able to start with all the required parts finally in-hand.

Looking forward to finally getting my truck back! Lol whenever that will be. Fingers crossed for it being soon...

Finally got the truck back on Thursday afternoon!

    PXL_20221020_203503095.jpg

    PXL_20221020_203453181.jpg

It was about 1500 on Thursday, and it went immediately for mounting the new wheels and tires. No time unfortunately to throw on the suspension as we were set to leave on a road trip to Arizona on behalf of YotaWerx early Friday morning.

    PXL_20221021_164401651.jpg

    PXL_20221021_163727571.jpg

    PXL_20221021_163637267.jpg

The tires do rub when making tight(er) turns, on the mudflap and the low edge of the front of the fender liner, but I figure the suspension lift being an additional 2" may be the solution there and if not, I can just remove and cut as necessary.

Hey @mZiggy, the truck is looking sweet with those LP4s. I was considering doing the festive pumpkins on my A-Pillars as well.

    Thanks!

The size of the tundra makes the LP4 feel viable and not oversized.

    Thanks, will do!

I expect a great experience with this tire. I had the same tire in 265/70/16 on my 2017 Twin Turbo Tacoma and used them in every terrain type and they were excellent. Super grippy even in the rain, they did excellent on wet rock, in mud, in the deep sand out here in El Paso, great in powdery snow that had reached the bottom of my doors on the Tacoma...figured it would be a great choice to go with the same tire again for the Tundra.

They're supposed to be Discount Tire's exclusive option from Goodyear as a successor to the Duratrac. Still snowflake and 3-peak rated, but they gave it a stiffer sidewall and a more aggressive tread pattern. And it's cheaper than the Duratrac (which came on my tundra) at $269/ea

Also, just got back from my trip out to Gilbert/Phoenix, AZ from El Paso (about 840mi round trip) on behalf of YotaWerx Tuning with this tire (mounted with the wheels on Thursday afternoon right after getting the truck back from the body shop and we left early Friday morning) and per my expectations and prior experience with this tire, no issues with shimmy or balancing issues felt/detected, which is something that I haven't been super happy about with regard to the Wildpeaks that I've got mounted on my v8 4Runner.

Pro Fox suspension installed to go along with the Methods and Ultraterrains

Still a little bit of rubbing but I think removing the mudflaps and some minor trimming will clear that up
