My Tundra is coming soon and I am prepping everything I need for it and I watched a review on the OEM dashcam by Toyota, which is very expensive (and lacking in functionality), and I’ve decided not to go that route. But I’d like to use the existing wire harness location because it’s right there ready to go.

Would anyone happen to know what plug it is?

The product and the installation PDF is at the bottom of this link.

This is the location of the preexisting wire harness plug

I've seen a harness that plugs into the back of the rear view mirror for dash cams.

If someone could get the same OEM connector and add the two needed cables to it, sure. I agree would be cleaner, but till someone tracked all that down, the above would work in the meantime.

I have been considering the OEM. What functionality are they lacking in? I had a Garmin dashcam in my '18 and really liked that one so I am still looking for the same functionality.

They seem fine, just expensive compared to your average dashcam. But easy because it just plugs in

Interesting it’s only 5-pin. I was going to try my rear view mirror adaptor from my 20 Tacoma until I saw this thread.

Anyone tried this connector yet and can confirm it's the right one? Probably going this route too, picking up my new Tundra tomorrow :D

I believe that Part# is the female end.

Here is another member got the male end to plug into the optional connector and built his own 12v to USB-A 5v adapter. Part# 90980-12366.
