    Sorry to start a redundant thread, but I have searched for installation instructions for the OEM manual bed step and can't find a thing. Please help. Thanks!!

    Well, I figured out a big part of my issue. I figured out how the bracket mounts, but there is no hardware in the box that the bracket came in. Two bolts and a nut; c'mon Toyota, seriously?!?!?!

    Lol glad you figured it out. I had to supply my own hardware too, wish Toyota would of just included the bolts. Will post helpful tips anyways to help out any other sad soul.

    Installing the bracket requires removing the chrome/or painted panel on the rear left side bumper. You'll need that much room in order to get a bolt through. Then its just 3 bolts to the frame. The physical step part of the assembly then mounts up to two holes on the bracket outlined below. I outlined the bracket in red to better see how the bracket mounts to the frame.

    $400 for a bracket and a step and Toyota wants you to supply your own bolts?

    Next thing you know, they'll be charging a subscription fee for those that wish to continue using their automated bed step.

    I love Toyota trucks, but their business model lately is piss poor for the consumer.

    Look at it this way, the more parts you supply yourself, the less likely it is you get a faulty part! It seems Toyota can't source anything reliable for the Gen 3.

    ....fyi, I'm not a gen 3 basher. I own one and have earned the right to gripe

    I have the bed step on backorder. Would you mind providing the fastener sizes you needed?

    I used some scrap bolts in my garage. I can't recall the sizes.

    However, you can refer to this post, i believe M10 was the bolt size.. i just used whatever bolt lying around in the garage that fit.

    I just want to thank everyone for their responses. The step is installed and works great!! Same as my 2018 Tundra, it was one of the top two best accessories I purchased (other one being the TRD sway bar).

    Lucky for Tim, but he's got a full on YouTube truck channel and Toyota was looking for some good will from him. I really should have looked harder at other full size truck manufacturers since Toyota dropped the ball on a way to get up into the truck bed. I believe that all the other truck manufacturers took the engineering time to provide a better method for this type of access and some offer it without any extra expense for this accessory. To be clear, to get the complete manual bed step, I need to order both part numbers below? If so, the Toyota parts MSRP pricing for this complete accessory is $493.82. with local Toyota online dealerships offering at approximately $356. Pretty expensive for a manual small plastic bed step.
    STEP, SUB-ASSY, BACK. Bed Step.
    Part Number: PTS3034000ST
    Supersession(s): PTS30-34000-ST
    MSRP = $343.81

    and

    Bracket, Step Support. Bed Step.
    Part Number: PTS3034000BK
    Supersession(s): PTS30-34000-BK
    MSRP = $150.01

    I was able to install mine without removing the bumper cover trim piece. Just need the right combo of extension and socket, and you can get to the top bolt. It takes some patience and a little flexibility, but it is certainly possible.

    I too was able to mount my step without removing any brackets or other body parts. I fully assemble first, extended the step and worked it in to place. You do have to watch which M10 bolts are 1.25 vs 1.5 thread.

    Same. Comes like that from Toyota. Took some time getting used to for me as well.

    It’s the way it was designed so when it’s extended it will be a flat surface.
    Still doesn’t look right when it’s stowed.

    Thanks, and agree, just doesn't look right when stowed, but again, everyone is in the same situation

    Also note the manual bed step is lower to the ground than the power (electric) bed step... That's a bummer too. Not even midway on stock truck, will need to lift truck a couple inches to equal out.

    So I ordered the ged step for my 2022 tundra. It came without install directions and was missing 2 bolts and 1 nut. Does anyone have the bolt sizes for the bracket that attaches to the truck itself. Toyota cannot seem to find them and they are no longer selling the step. Guy told me there was a stop on the sales of the truck bed but said I could find them at a hardware store. So here I am asking if anyone knows the size of bolts so I don’t spend an hour going in and out of a hardware store to my truck to see what fits!

    The two bolts you're missing are "Front Mount Bracket Upper Bolt (90119-A0440) X 2" I got the two bolts from my dealer for a few dollars. There was not a nut required for the install.
